I think the list is incomplete. If staying on the list Its a toss up between Traccitto and VanLaren.
I think the most underated player(s) on the team is Agozzino and DeSousa

DeSousa, Fletcher, and Swift - yes, Swift. As good as he is, I think he STILL gets overlooked for his intangibles - hussle and heart. Last game he was skating hard to backcheck, throwing hits, etc... And Fletcher - a lot of people think he's just a one-dimensional player to enforce, but he can play a solid game of D.

Yeah I was saying Traccitto based on the given options. There are many that get overlooked in my mind.

Not to mention getting in a scrap with someone much bigger than him...

I agree that Swifty gets overlooked, but isnt one of the reasons he is wearing the C is for his intangibles??

From the six guys on the list, my vote would go to Andrew Merrett. For a player with marginal skills,he earns his ice time with consistent solid effort. Good positional play, strong along the boards, and good forechecking are Andrew's hallmarks. One of the few big forwards on the team, he uses his size to advantage.Coach can put him out in any situatiion, and he won't hurt the team. While he doesn't get much attention, every team needs players like Merrett. Pay close attention to him at the next Dogs game you attend-you'll be impressed. GO DOGS!

I didnt think much of Merrett during the preseason, but since I have become a big plan. He is a grinder, someone that doesnt mind putting his body in harms way. He plays a big role on this IceDogs team.

Not necessarily - Look at Sundin - he's got the C, but he brings no intangibles to the team on the ice.
Swift might be a good leader in the dressing room, as might be Mats, which could be the reason they both wear the C. My point being, that it's the on-ice stuff that Swift does that gets overlooked. A lot of fans that might not watch him closely are probably fans because he puts points up, but I think there's a lot more that he brings that people might not notice.

I don't mean to knock Michael Swift but ,to put things in perspective, remember this is his fifth year in the league, and he is 20 years old. There's a confidence and a comfort level that come with that combination-just think of yourself at your job-old-timers vs. newcomers. The 15-16 yr.olds look up to the OA's like big brothers. Aggie and Friesen are just 16.Think of them in this league with another 4 years' experience.
How do you think they'd stack up to Swift? Similar? Better?..or not as good! GO DOGS!

THat's a good analogy you put forth - newcomes to the job and old timers. Yah, it's hard to compare Swift with the rest of the team because he is a veteran afterall, at least at this level. I was just saying though that even though he's probably most known for his goals/assists, he still really skates hard, throws hits, loses his tempter (ie: shows passion) even after being in the league for as long as he has. He could be slowing down, thinking "well, I haven't been drafted and it's my last year in the OHL so I'm gonna take it easy", but he doesn't. I dunno, maybe he just really impressed me the last game against Windsor. He was skating back hard, throwing hits against bigger guys (getting knocked down, but the fact that he's going after them says a lot), dropping the gloves even.
There's not many times when he takes an easy shift, yet he's known as a point scorer, but people might tend to overlook his energy and heart that doesn't show up on the score board.
I'm not sure why he hasn't been drafted. Invite him to camp at least and see what he does. There's no harm done in giving the guy a chance. Maybe next spring he'll get it.

I also cannot vote, since the player I wish to vote for is Agozzino.
I am impressed with him as a rookie. The coach has him penalty killing and plays him late in periods. He's a darn good forecheker, and drives to the net hard without the puck. He's scored 9 goals and 2 assists or so thus far this year, in very limited playing time, and hardly any PP time.
I am going to look forward to next year seeing him play a more regular shift and role on the team.

Bergeron shocks me sometimes. The guy has wheels and hands...unfortunately he just doesn't have vision and thats not something you really learn.

I dont know if its vision he doesnt have... in the preseason him and Swifty were connecting left and right, but once the season started it was almost like he started thinking about it instead of doing it. He just hasnt finished his chances. I think once he get a goal they will come in bunches.

It's Jan 3 and as much as I still think Reggie is still my first choice, Josh Day has been playing exceptionally well, but with his quiet personality, and playing next to Petro and Corrente, it's easy to get over looked.
I have only been posting here for a short time, but I don't see Sanderson, but I would suggest him

Bergeron...without a doubt...selfless, playmaker...but THEY HAVE TO PLAY HIM IN ORDER FOR US TO HAVE AN OBJECTIVE OPINION!!!
I'm a little passionate about this issue...

Watch him and his set ups...the kid has eyes in the back of his head. As for buddy who thinks he lacks vision...time to take the blinders off and watch him...closely...when he gets the ice time!
