I found this on another hockey board I'm a part of. Seems like it could be a big hit to the Gens if true... here's the post from the other board...
Hey guys, some pretty serious news coming from the Gens camp...I won't say how I got the information about this but it has said that both James DeLory and Shea Kewin have both been sent home for good from the Oshawa Generals...Im not going to say for what reasons at this time but both will not be coming back to the team it looks like...My source is almost 100% reliable, but i sure hope their wrong on this one..Pretty big hit for the Gens at this time. I guess we'll know for good on the weekend whether or not their in the lineup

I am not sure, I have trying to find that out. If I happen to see Matt tomorrow in Owen Sound, I will definately ask him.

Yes the Corrente's are brothers. The younger one looks just like Matt both on and off the ice. Its amazing how they both skate the same way. From what I saw last night, the younger Corrente (David) is going to be a draftee as well...he is only 16 years old.
The two players that were sent home arent very well liked in Oshawa. Was talking with a few of the fans last night, Delory (Dman 6'5" 237lbs, 4G 21 A last year, San Jose 4th rounder) and Kewin (RW 6'0" 188lbs 11G 9A last year), it appears, were out after curfew and wrecked a car. Now I dont know how true this is, like I said, I heard it from a few fans, but they all said the same thing, they will not be back with the team this year. I am sure that either of these guys could be had for a song and a dance, but do we want somebody elses discipline problems??

would be good to pick some guy up but like you said... do we want someone elses problems...maybe it was a one time thing and the message was sent LOUD and clear.

I guess I am a bit gunshy right now, especially after seeing how Snow faired here. I think there is a lot of upside to Delory, but do we want to give up A)players and B) future picks for him? As for getting the message...I am seeing there are a lot of players in the OHL with Million Dollar talent but 5 cent heads.... not a good combo.

Oh I am all for that move, but I doubt we will find any takers for the Snowman. His next team will be his 5th in one year.

Hmm... first of all I don't believe rumours until I hear more than heresay - but I'd like to have both the guys in our lineup. From what I've seen of them, both play a very physical game. And right now, trying to figure out what's wrong with our team besides just guys out of the lineup, I'm currently going with lack of size. I'd try them out. It's only 1/3rd into the season and we're in a rut, so why not. I mean, we can blame only so much on having key guys out of the lineup, but saying that is saying we're relying on those guys to win our games. At some point we have to put some of the responsibility on the rest of the team that IS in the lineups night in night out.
Anyway, yah... I'd try either of them out. Add some size and see what kind of effect it has.

I think I would try them out too AD. Like you said, we do need size. Would be nice to be the bigger team on the ice some time.

According to the same person that said both players were sent home, they have now been "re-instated" apparently they got a talkin' to and since it was their first time doing whatever it is they did, they got away with it. DeLory might lose his A.

Got this from another site, yes the players are reinstated and yes the incident was alcohol related.
Three criminal charges lead to team suspension

They are a part of the family here and we have to do what is best for them and help them through it. -- Trish Campbell OSHAWA -- What started out as a promising campaign for Shea Kewin on the ice has quickly turned into a nightmare off the ice.
Kewin, the 19-year-old native of Guelph who is in his first full season with the Oshawa Generals, finds himself with much more to worry about than hockey after Durham Regional Police Service charged him with impaired care and control of a vehicle, failure to stop at the scene of an accident and refusing to provide a breath sample.
Durham police responded to an Oshawa neighbourhood around 1:40 a.m. Nov. 14 for a report of a possible impaired driver. Police said a vehicle travelling on Rimosa Court struck a parked car and then continued on before hitting a tree. Officers stopped a vehicle on Roundelay Drive and charged the driver.
Kewin, who was charged and later released on a promise to appear in court in December, and Generals teammate James DeLory were suspended indefinitely by the Generals after the incident and missed all three weekend games. However, after meeting with the players on Tuesday, team coach and general manager Brad Selwood said he has reinstated them and expected both to be back in the lineup Friday in London.
“We’ve suspended them, we’ve met with the families, we’ve met with people concerned, we’ve made sure we’ve gotten them some help,” Selwood said when asked about the severity of the charges. “They are young men, they made mistakes, they made that decision. (Do) you want me to shoot them?”
The reason behind the team-issued bans had little to do with the criminal charges that Kewin faces, Selwood said.
“Absolutely not. It has nothing to do with me,” said Selwood, when asked whether the criminal charges played into his decision to send the pair home. “They broke the curfew rules and the team rules and that’s why they were sent home. The other stuff... the other stuff is personal.”
As Mark Bell of the Toronto Maple Leafs found out earlier this season, the National Hockey League has a policy in place to hand out supplementary discipline to players involved in off-ice criminal incidents. The former Ottawa 67’s forward was handed a 15-game ban from commissioner Gary Bettman after being convicted of driving under the influence and hit and run charges in San Jose while a member of the Sharks.
However, according to David Branch, the OHL commissioner and CHL president, who said he was unaware of the charges until Tuesday afternoon, the OHL has no such policy in effect, meaning Kewin is likely safe from further discipline beyond the three games handed to him by Selwood.
“In general terms, no,” said Branch when asked if the league has a policy to deal with these type of matters.
Branch declined further comment based on his lack of knowledge of the situation.
“I am not familiar with any particular charges and I certainly would not wish to comment on that,” he said.
Though disappointed at the events that have transpired, Generals president Trish Campbell says the team will in no way turn their backs on the two players.
“Obviously you wish it didn’t happen, but it did,” she said on Tuesday. “Because of their age, kids make mistakes. We all make mistakes. It’s up to us to be supportive of them. They are a part of the family here and we have to do what is best for them and help them through it.”

Saying kids make mistakes is one thing, but when its drunk driving I think thats a bit more than just a mistake. What if they had hit someone? What if they don't hit an empty parked car or a tree? What if they had hit another moving car with people in it? I surely hope the point has been hammered into them that drunk driving is possibly the DUMBEST thing you can ever do.

Impaired "Care and Control of a Vehicle" !?
Is that the semi-new law where you can get busted for being in proximity to your car while being drunk and in possession of the keys? It's not drunk driving, because the 2 drunk driving charges are DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and Driving over the Legal alcohol limit (even if you're not drunk, you can still blow over - and DUI is of course you can be drunk, without even blowing over).
So I'm guessing Care & Control is that new one. But after reading the statement it sounds like he WAS driving - so maybe it's just our wisdom-filled law makers changing the names of everything so we don't have any chance in actually knowing our own laws.
I'm VERY glad that it was stated they were suspended due to the breaking of curfew, and NOT the alcohol/charges. 1: I don't believe teams have any right in getting involved with the players' personal lives outside of the rink (aside from curfew of course) 2: it's something his family will deal with 3: the poor guy's obviously going through hell with all of it anyway. Why abandon the guy when he needs support the most.
Plus, and I'm not saying it's ok what he did, but young guys do stupid things and get into trouble. It's all part of being young.
I'm glad the team decided to stick with 'em instead of laying down more punishment on top of what the law will already do.

I am not sure about the OHL, but a standard players contract contains morality clauses which cover such things as drunk driving, spousal abuse and other crimes.
Its the teams right to cut or trade someone for behaviour like this.
Bottom line...thank God nobody got physically hurt.

I agree with that at the adult/professional level. And it appears the 2 guys involved are of [legal] adult age. But for the younger guys getting into trouble, teams need to provide a support net for them instead of just getting rid of them. At least for the first instance.
Yah, at least it was only car parts that were damaged and not body parts.
