That was a fantastic read, I cannot thank those 2 enough for what they have done for this area. Great people too, Bill came down with all us fans at the Oshawa game on Sunday.

I agree, fans couldn't ask for better team owners.

Great article. Fantastic to see so much passion from the owners on this area. I hope it can continue. :D

Can't help but wonder, though what the "powers that be" in the OHL (Mr. Branch etc.) feel about his comment on maybe staying on at the Jack past it's 5 year lease. They made it crystal clear that it is not nearly up to league standards and will want a new or updated facility in the short term.

like he said in the article.. break even or lose a bit... with that...a "business" cant/wont take the risk of investing a ton of money into a new arena if the "fan" base is not up to what it should be...i think they will extend the marketing to the rest of niagara and see how that goes...if the crowds pick up..and stay consistant... then we'll see what moves can happen.... I too wouldnt invest into something that would possibly lead to a loss of revenue for the team....

The problem is though - it's impossible to tell how many fans will come out to a NEW arena, but judging how many are coming out to THIS arena.

exactly... so if we have a sell out...or close to it every game, then that makes the thought of a new arena so much better....but anways enough of the new arena talk on this thread...its about the article...:D

If anyone wants entertainment within the entertainment just watch Denise Burke when the opposing team has a breakaway! hahahah She reminds me of my mom when I played back in the day, she starts screaming and jumping up and down. I love it!

We need that passion from all the fans. I'm out of my seat every time we're on a breakaway. Heck even at home I'm like that watching the IceDogs/Leafs on TV. I remember watching a reply of a goal on TV and me and Quizzer were the only ones in the TV frame who were standing and cheering. Maybe we need to get more beer into the people. The seats are uncomfortable enough as it is - you'd think they'd WANT to stand whenever given the opportunity! :D Then again, with our loosing streak the past couple weeks, the fans have all been deflated. We'll start rockin again this weekend!

I have noticed that most fans resort to clapping when a goal is scored. THIS ISN'T GOLF PEOPLE!!!!!!

People are scared of offending others, or violating their right's to enjoy a game.
As time goes on they will loosen up once they see the rest of the place having a good time.
Remember outside the arena it's a whole different world of rules and regulation's and the proper way to do this and you don't do that or watch what you do.
I brought little horns to sunday's game and people had fun with them, some people looked at us like we had some mental disorder but we made noise.
And had fun doing it.

Yep... new rink policy: everyone over 19 has to do 4 straight shots of rye before ending the rink area. (and everyone under 19 has to do 3 :p )

They better include that in my ticket price!

You can forget parking problems. No drinking and driving. Straight shuttles to take everyone home.

Dont expect with all the little talks of a new rink, that one will be coming any earlier than 4 full seasons at the Jack, that was the city's deal & it will take that much research & proper time & numbers to see if a new one can or will be built by that time & only if the numbers & money are proper will the city ever say YES
