If Ott wins we'll be knocked down in the standings. Although the standings are so close where we are, it's not even worth worrying about until probably the last week of the season.

Listening to the Brampton-Missy game tonight and the TV broadcaster called Sebastian Dahm (http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/stats/player.php?id=4329) a Battalion killer.
Dahm's games against the Battalion have been heavy work loads...

6 goals on 34 shots in a 10-2 loss
3 goals on 48 shots in a 4-3 win
3 goals on 38 shots in a 3-0 loss
3 goals on 47 shots in a 4-3 OT win
4 goals on 57 shots in a 4-1 loss

total 19 goals on 224 shots = .922 save percentage.

With Tavares cruising near the blue-line, O'Donnell leveled the reigning CHL's player of the year.
Dale Mitchell chased down O'Donnell, looking for a fight while Tavares went to the referee and was handed a 10-minute misconduct.
Tavares didn't get out of the box until less than three minutes to play in regulation and head coach Chris DePiero had him on the bench the rest of the way.
"I wanted to get a big hit on Tavares," O'Donnell said. "He turned to the ref and that really helped us."

The Barrie Colts' mastery of the Sudbury Wolves continued Thursday night.

The Colts scored a 5-2 win over the Wolves at the Barrie Molson Centre to run their season record over the Wolves to 7-1 in the eighth and final match of the regular season between the Central Division rivals.

Three suspect second-period goals cost the Wolves a chance at victory.

"The first period was even and we came out in the second period and really had some pressure," said Wolves head coach/GM Mike Foligno. "Then they came down the ice and scored three bad ones in a row Andrew Loverock would love to have back and that's the difference in the game. They capitalized on some shots that normally would be saved, but tonight the puck had eyes."

KINGSTON – The Oshawa Generals have enough hockey to play down the stretch as it is, yet they keep playing just a little bit more each night.

And the results are hardly encouraging.

After playing into overtime for the fifth time in the past six games Friday night in Kingston, the Generals lost to another inferior opponent, this time 5-4 to the Frontenacs following a shootout.

Former General Kyle Paige scored the only goal of the shootout, on the fourth Kingston attempt, while Brett MacLean, Dale Mitchell, John Tavares and Brett Parnham all failed to beat Frontenacs goalie John Murray.

MacLean continued his re-emergence from a recent slump in regulation time, scoring three times to up his league-leading goal total to 58.

Parnham scored the other Oshawa goal, giving the Generals a 4-2 lead through two periods.

But goals by Nathan Moon and Andris Dzerins, on a power play with 1:31 remaining in regulation, tied the game for the Frontenacs at the new K-Rock Centre.

The Generals were without six regulars, including captain Eric Regan and fellow defenceman Michael Del Zotto, who were healthy scratches along with forwards Corey Cowick, Kory Nagy, Ryan Baldwin and Jeff Hayes.

Michal Neuvirth, coming off a shaky relief appearance in a 10-9 shootout loss to Mississauga a night earlier, faced 59 Kingston shots. The Generals sent 38 Murray’s way.

The Generals are back in action Sunday, a rare road matinee against the Niagara IceDogs.

-----
The Sting are back in action Sunday evening when they host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Sarnia SSEC. Game time is 6:05 p.m.
The last time the two teams met was Feb. 27 in Sault Ste. Marie, with the Greyhounds hammering the Sting 9-0.
MacQueen is looking for a better performance by the Sting come Sunday.
"They embarrased us pretty good the last time we were up there. I think Hartsy (Greyhound coach Craig Hartsburg) said it best, they're not that good and we're not that bad. But, we haven't beat them yet this year, and they're playing for first place in the division and we're playing to keep moving up in the standings. So, it's going to be a real good test of our hockey club."

ItsGameTime

Watching this game you can see what the two teams are thinking.

Barrie knows they are going to have to work hard (and count on their goalie) because of Bramptons skill and Brampton is taking their skill for granted. I don't see any sense of urgency, they better buck up or they are going to be ousted in the first round.

Just as I type this Barrie's goaltender makes an amazing save.

ItsGameTime

I think its been pretty much the same as our series with the Majors, the Battalion have taken about 5 more penalties than the Colts much like our Dogs tend to take more. the only difference is our ability to score a man down. i think thats why we havent been complaining, as well we are winning unlike our green counterparts.

both teams have 0 PP goals from about 17 or so opportunities.

no way its the flu. its playoffs. cizikas and messier very well may have both had separted shoulders and still suited up. and 2 games out with the flu? no way

i wonder how serious the mason thing is?

TheQuietOne
03-27-2008, 12:17 PM
It could be the flu, it was a game 4 in a series that was already out of reach...

Then again, I remember Pete Deboer's tricks a couple years ago. Mike Richards (currently of Flyers fame) was sitting beside me in the stands in Plymouth during the playoffs with his arm in a sling. At the end of the playoffs, it was revealed that he has a concussion....
