I was just looking at the score sheet from tonights Wild v Blackhawks game. Mn won handidly 5-2, yet 2 of the 3 stars were Hawks. How does that happen? Yes, Harding (43 shots 41 saves), was the first star but then Versteeg (0g,0A) was second and Sopel (1G,0A) was thrid. Gabby had two goals on three shots for the Wild. Belanger had two assists. In all, 10 Wild players had points..... I just dont get it...

Without knowing anything about this game, the only logical answer I can come up with is that it was a homer picking the stars. Did those Hawks have lots of shots??

Absolutely a homer I would think too.... Versteeg was a +1 with 2 shots and Sopel was +/- 0 with 1 shot.

I agree, its tough to say without watching or listening to the game, I just found it very odd.

Odd isn't the word that comes to mind. Ridiculous sounds more applicable.

Don't know how old you are, but one of the NHL guys I was mentionning in my respect/honour rant in the Bobby Clarke thread was a captain of the North Stars in the very late 60's. He mainly played with the Habs (go figure) and has 5 cups with them. He's one of my father's best friends and was at my wedding. WDF, I'm gonna test you to see how big a Minnie fanyou are, who am I talking about??

I am 44 so going back that long is a reach but its either got to be Larose or Woytowich. My money is on Larose. Larose is a pretty big name around these parts

Good call!! You've proven your worth as a North Stars fan. :hurray: That's actually pretty good cause you would have barely been out of diapers!

Although not much of Habs fan, as Woytowich never played for the Red, White and Blue!

I wasnt sure if Woyo ever play for the Habs but was pretty sure Claude did.

I really started following the Stars in the early to mid 70's.
