[the following was forwarded from a season ticket holder - it will give the rest of you a bit of an update as to their progress and what's going on right now]
Hello IceDogs Season Ticket Holders
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and thank you for
your support and patience up to this point. My name is Jon Kursikowski and
I have actually made the move with the team from Mississauga to the
beautiful Niagara Region. This will be my third season with the IceDogs
organization and I am very excited to have this opportunity to stick with
the boys as they work their way to an OHL and Memorial Cup championship.
A lot has been going on over the past couple months and I will do my best to
update you briefly on the major happenings. First off, as I know a lot of
people have been asking, season ticket booklets will be ready in early
September. There was a delay in the design process, but they will be ready
before the season begins and I will be in touch with further details once
they have been arranged. In addition, we have made some alterations to the
season ticket holder package and most significantly have decided to include
free admission to all home exhibition games for the upcoming season. For
those who are unaware, our two home exhibition games are on September 6th
and 9th and both will be at the Jack Gatecliff arena. In addition, there
will be two private season ticket holder entrances available on game-days
and we will also be providing everyone with a complimentary gift at the
start of the season. Finally, individual game tickets will be available for
all season ticket holders and flex pack holders. Therefore, those of you
looking to purchase a few extra seats for the home opener or the Oshawa game
in March can do so before they are opened up to the general public. These
can be purchased by visiting our office at 35 Queen Street in St. Catharines
or contacting myself at the number listed below.
Ticketing aside, there has also been a lot going on with the team and arena.
The renovations at the rink are going very well with the new boards in
place, the penalty box has been ripped out and re-done and the dressing room
is almost complete. Our general manager, Dave Brown, has also been very
busy tweaking the roster in making two recent deals with the London Knights.
The first was a minor move in acquiring Reggie Tracitto in exchange for a
conditional draft pick in the upcoming draft. This was followed up by a
much larger move yesterday as Defenceman Nathan Martine was dealt in
exchange for Centre Jordan Foreman. In having an excess of solid defenceman
on the roster, Dave saw this as an opportunity to better spread the ice time
on the back end while also filling a major hole in acquiring a second line
center. Jordan is a tenacious, skilled player who will be very exciting to
watch and will make our team much more difficult to play against. He is a
guaranteed crowd favourite in the Niagara region and the combination of
himself, Stefan Legein, and Luca Caputi will be very dangerous.
I believe that is all for now. If there are ever any questions, concerns,
or inquiries regarding the team please feel free to contact me at the
information listed below.
Cheers,
