View Full Version : OHL office takes too long to hand out suspensions - not just me that notices!

I was watching a game last night (can't remember who) and the commentators were even saying during intermission, that they have no idea why it takes so long for the office to deal with upcoming suspensions.

I think it was about those 2 teams that had some end-game fights. They were asking why the heck it took so long to finally hand out the suspensions, and why it's like that for pretty much all plays that are under review.

So we're not alone in scratching our heads, wondering what the OHL staff actually DOES during the day. I mean, they've GOT all the video of everything. Spend 15 minutes watching it over and over, 15 minutes to discuss it, and bang... you have your verdict after a total of half an hour.

Takes them DAYS!! I want a job there!!! I think I would be well suited for a place that houses the masters of procrastination :11:

Anyway.. it was just really good to hear actual commentators complain about the same thing that a lot of us have been wondering. We're not alone out there!

If I was a player I'd be really pissed if I only got a 1 game suspension, but didn't get it until like *2* games had passed. Although I'm sure the league would just cover their butts and make it a 2-game suspension and say it was going to be 2 games anywa :001_tongue:

you are probably right, it looks like it took till Wednesday for them to decide on the Oshawa game, so I'm sure we won't here or see anything till then this week as well.

this is common practice for the OHL. Automatic suspensions mean the players sit right away. but with the reviews, the player plays til he is notified he is suspended.

aaah ok, I see now.

I still don't know why it takes so long. At least the commentators of the game are making statements about it on the air :D
