i hate to sound like im jumping off ship, but if they got rid of belak, whatever team he went to, would probably be my fav team. belak is THE man. he is the reason i still watch leafs hockey(other than ive been watching them since the day i was born)

Exactly same here man. Belak, right now, is the only reason why I still pay as much attention as I do to the Leafs. Maurice barley dresses him anymore though:cursing::thumbdown: He played last night against Atlanta but barley any ice time. We need more BELAK!

i got a primeau jersey abck in the day and he was quickly dealt from the wings to the canes
i got a nolan jersey and the next season he was out of toronto

can't say I remember ever seeing a panthers jersey anywhere in southern ontario (other than, perhaps, at a leafs/panthers game, lol)

I heard his interview on the fan 590 this afternoon just moments after he found out (from his agent, who saw he had been traded on the ticker on the tv), and he sounded pretty upset.

It is pretty funny isn't it? Sucks for me though lol. I didn't even see this trade coming either. The fans loved Belak, plus he was our heavy. Who do we have now? No one, I just dont understand why he was traded. Best of luck to him in Florida, I have an excuse to buy "NHL Center Ice" now:D

I do. Belak's name was never even mentioned in being traded. Plus I thought they would of kept him because he was a fan favourite and got his job done well.

Fletcher had to move someone. Even though I hate the Leafs and am enjoying every minute of their misery. Belak is the one guy I liked for his toughness and the way he carried himself off the ice... as a hockey player he is rather mediocre though.
