Over a month ago I asked is Drew Schiestal playing up to his potential. Answer: If he wasn't he is now and there is still untapped talent that he hasn't used. The next night at an away game (Belleville I believe) I watched as Drew played his Butt off. Comments were made by the announcers on how well he was playing. One hit even took out two players.
Over the last month I have watched the games and tried keep an eye on #22. I have always known that he was a talented player but for you fans that enjoy hockey for more than just the guys who scores the goal, Watch #22 Drew Schiestal.
Keep up the good work. Buffalo has selected well.

With the exception of a brutal giveaway pass in our own end in the second on Sunday, I thought Drew played an excellent game at both ends. His offensive prowess seemed exceptionally strong as he led many charges into the other zone and controlled the puck well.

Glad to see another thread about Drew Schiestel.
This guy is serious about hockey. Yes, he makes his share of gaffes, but one thing you won't see from Drew are lazy penalties,or a lack of effort. In the loss to Brampton on Feb.29, near the end of the game, pretty well out of reach, he was still driving, while others were coasting. At the road loss in Erie Mar. 5, there was a lot of levity on the bench. This was clearly troubling Schiestel-you could see it.
Now that he doesn't have school to worry about(he finished HS at Xmas) he has focused on his hockey, with next season's pro camp the target. He gained a reputation as a playoff guy in last year's short post season. Scouts were apparently impressed by his improved play. He wants to maintain this reputation, with a long playoff drive.
He is increasing his strength training regimen. so as to get bigger and stronger. Always dedicated at practice, he is working to improve on all aspects of his game.
Whuile not a rah-rah kind of guy, Drew Schiestel is definitely a team player in the true sense, one who knows what the target is, and what it takes to achieve it.
You are absolutely right, Buffalo Sabres have chosen well, and I for one, wish Drew Schiestel all the best in his time with the Dogs and in a long,I am confident, professional hockey career. GO DOGS!
Drew has become a great player for the dogs.

Drew has definetly progressed well and really enjoyed watching him joining into the rush on many occasions...
Too bad that his one costly turnover in his own end this afternoon cost them a BIG goal against!
