Here are some pics from yesterdays game. If you look closely at pic#5, you can see our very own RobertDicks and RioBravo giving it to the Majors as they come onto the ice (I think that was to start the 3rd). What you cant see is the broom that Rob was waving at the players....:D Said broom is the same broom which found its way onto the ice after the game in pic #10

I was using the little dusters in Howlette and TRGs sign to sweep while they were walking out. Just sweeping and shaking my head at them... nothing more, nothing less.

I am in pic #2! Yay!! Facepaint next home game (wonder who we'll play =P)

If you look close enough you can see the broom. Rob is blocking both of us but you can see caseys arm and the little dust pan and broom. lol

I wouldn't post any videos of the actual game. The IceDogs office will ask you to delete the post as they don't want videos of the game posted. Videos of friends/fans in the stands, etc.. are all fine I'm sure. Just no game footage.

We definitely need more photos of those cheerleaders :P

The only other times I've seen cheerleaders at games is in Euro competitions. We definitely need them though - our crowds are pretty drab when it comes to cheering. If the Go Dogs Go chant isn't going, there's no organized cheers going.

I've gotta disagree with you here.

The last thing ANY hockey team needs is cheerleaders, especially ones that are hovering around the jailbait line.

Cheerleaders and Hockey DO NOT go together at all.

It seemed, last night, that TRG(who I didnt meet but saw on his rounds) was doing a better job then these girls and some of them couldnt even handle the Go Dogs Go chant. So I wouldnt so much say that we need more jailbait girls running around as a few more "hardcore" fans who are willing to run around the arena and get something going in the crowd.

**Disclaimer** The view stated above is mine and mine alone, and I dont expect people to agree with me, but I think anyone who really wants to disagree with my statement should think of if they really fit into the game last night.

I agree 100%. cheerleaders and hockey dont mix, in my opinion. Cheerleaders are for Basketball and Football.

Reason is ...if each of them were given Go Dogs Go paddles and placed at the bottom of each eisle evenly dispursed around the arena and in unison with the screen practice the actual GO DOGS GO CHANT it would work gloriously.
That way hardcore fans who love watching the game. Can do so and join in the chants.
Give a set of Paddles to BONES as well. Howler our Wolves Mascot uses them with a great deal of success, especially with the kids.

I totally agree that we need more fans like TRG to get the crowd going, but the fact is we don't have anyone like that. Except for Claude the trumpeteer, but he comes from Quebec. As for jailbait - I was told they're all Brock students... Which would generally mean 18-20yrs I think. Anyway... at least they try to get the crowd going. If we dont' have that Go Dogs Go flashing on the big screens, nobody starts anything by themselves unfortunately. If I didn't sit alone by myself every game I'd be more outgoing, but at least for now those cheerleaders are trying to get people chanting.

It has gotten a lot better the last few weeks. Rio with his drum and others in section N have started a lot of chants, Swifty14, FishFan, Dv8 and others in that section have gotten things going and as Pup can attest to, section D has gotten louder in recent weeks. I dont think we rely on the screens nearly as much as we use to.

True. But mostly it'll be only one or 2 sections that you can here chanting without the use of the screens. We need to have the WHOLE RINK doing it. It's strange how it doesn't travel well from the section that starts it into the surrounding sections...

Maybe I'm just a dirty old man:001_rolleyes:,,, LOL but I think having the Cheer Leaders:hurray: there is a good thing, alot of NHL teams have them. And hey they are young adults earning some money and not out on the street ,,and if they help to get the crowd into the game, GREAT I say, this is only my opinion though

The sabers have (use to have) cheerleaders but they are Women.

Saginaw and Ottawa have cheerleaders in the O. Saginaw's are definitely jailbait. Ottawa's are in the 18-22 range. Personally, I see no need for them in hockey, as they don't actually get the crowd cheering....

They need to re-name these people "dance teams" instead of cheerleaders.

I will gladly attest to this. Section D is LOUD!!! I thought the whole arena was loud, but I guess it's just that the people around me are SO LOUD (ourselves included) that I assume that the whole place is. WE LOVE IT!:sneaky2:

lol. I think thats whats going on in section N aswell. Our group is so loud that you cant hear the announcer or anything besides us. If every section were like N D and F the building would probably collaps.

Section N gets so loud that we honestly can't hear how many others join in but if everyone could lose their inhibitions and just let loose, we could blow the roof off. I've talked to enough players over the years to know that the more noise from us, the bigger the rush for them, and all that natural talent gets turned up a notch. So hopefully, everyone in the place will start making noise and we'll be the most successfull 6th man in history. What a sweet memorial cup celebration that would be.

Some people just arent the type to get up and scream. Myself, if you told some people that I am that loud at a hockey game they wouldn't believe you. Im usually a pretty shy person with people. I just feel at home at those games and I want this team to win so bad i can't control myself.

Thats pretty funny Rio. Im the same way. Outside of the arena im a pretty quite and shy person. Having you Casey and Rob around makes it easy for me to be loud. Section N... Were are own support group. lol
