View Full Version : No pre-season games on OHL Action Pack (?)

I just checked the Super Sports Package channels on Cogeco (channels 436 to 461) and they don't seem to have any listings for OHL pre-season games.

I know they don't carry the NHL pre-season games (although NHL Network does) so I'm assuming they're not going to carry OHL pre-season.

Hopefully ch.10 cable will!

ps: I noticed a guy standing next to a camera at the Black & White game - but he wasn't filming it at all. The camera was on but was never even pointed at the play. I have no idea what he was doing... maybe just testing things out for the upcoming season.

i did notice that too and wondered why it wasnt on the otherside so the camera can see the home bench from the front...

there wouldnt be any room on the other side. There is only room on the icedogs side because they changed from the ladder to stairs and now there is a gap big enough for a camera.

The camera goes on the side that has the on ice advertising facing that direction. Since the advertising (and centre logo) faces the IceDogs bench, the camera will be positioned on that side.

Is it really worth it to get the Super Sports package??

I have been pondering on it for a while now, I just purchased Leafs TV and NHL Network yesterday, and was considering the Super Sports Package just so I can watch more Columbus games.

Well, it depends. If you really like watching hockey other than the Leafs, yes the NHL Center Ice Package is worth it.

Plus you'll probably get most of the IceDogs away games, even the ones not done by Cogeco.

BUT... you have to get the *entire* Super Sports package now - $24.95/mth I believe - instead of being able to get *just* the NHL package (which used to be about $14/month or something like that).

I will admit it is kinda cool watching the Nascar in-car camera channels where you can pick from about 10 different drivers that you want to ride along with.

As for the NHL channels, you'll get to see pretty much every televised NHL game there is, so if Columbus videos most of their games, you'll get to see most of them. Some smaller market teams don't even have TV coverage of all their games - something unheard of living here in a Leaf market.

I'll be getting it this year just to follow the OHL and teams that we're fighting against for points. But I don't watch a whole lot of NHL besides the Leafs. But as I said, I can't buy just the OHL Action Pak separate for a lower cost, like I used to be able to up until about 3 yrs ago. You have to buy everything all in one package now, for a higher price.

Well, I see that the IceDogs away game in Ottawa this week will be on the OHL Action Pack, so I have made up my mind and I am ordering the super sports package through Cogeco as I type this post.

Suprisingly enough I did get the $19.99 deal for the first four months, which is good! :)

I will probably cancel it after my 6 month contract is up, beacuse I am to busy with my racing in the summer time, I am never home due to traveling commitments with race teams, mind you I plan on re- subscribing to it next fall if I think it's worth it this season.

P.S. I think it will be worth it just by being able to get IceDog's & Blue Jackets games......why doesn't the AHL add to the pack??? that would be amazing!!!

Heck why not have NHL, OHL, add AHL, WHL & QMJHL??
