Has anyone heard anything about
Luca???
Alex???
Matt???
and if anyone knows what Swift, Foremen and Dahm are going to do now?
I know Dahm is representing Denmark but does anyone know what he is doing after that?
I love Luca

Luca's was drafted by Pittsburg Penguins but is as of yet unsigned. I imagine he'll get asked to their camp in the Fall and they'll decide where he plays from there. I expect him to be back in the 'O next year just to give him time to put on some weight (185lbs is very skinny for a 6'3" frame). Would be scary to see the #'s he'd put up if back in the 'O.
There will be no news on Petro until after the NHL draft. I would expect him to get an invite to the camp of the team who drafts him, then back on the Dogs for next year.
Corrente could very well be kept by the NJ Devils. He had an extended stay with their camp and pre-season at the beginning of this past year.
I haven't heard anything about Swift. Foreman got an invite to Edmonton's camp last fall. He could get another invite and if he impresses, be offered a contract with their AHL affiliate. (these are just all my speculations of course)
Dahm, that's a tough one. He is not drafted and not signed. I hope he gets to actually PLAY for Denark in the World's, has a great outing, impresses NHL scounts, and gets an offer to a camp to show what he can do. If not I'd guess he'll continue to play in Euro leagues until a pro contract comes his way.
Whatever happens, I wish all the guys the best of luck in their careers.

Luca is an amazing talent and deserves to showcase those talents in the AHL right now. As Alpha said, he needs to fill out a bit more. He has the height, but just needs a bit of bulk. I can't stand the thought of losing him but I think he may be ready for bigger and better things!
My selfish side says--PLEASE STAY LUCA!!:001_wub:

I had always thought he was too skinny for his height to move up to play with the 'big boys' -- but still, how much more can he develope in this league? Probably from a Pittsburg's GM point of view, if he's someone I wanted to continue having in my system, I'd probably want him in the AHL next year learning things, instead of skating circles around guys in the O getting too-used to the skill level.
Just get 'em on a diet of pastas and steaks, with a weight training program and he should be able to hit 200 easy by mid summer, 210 maybe by training camp. 'Could develop in to a real power foward!

i hope he is back for our entertainment but i think he'll be a step up for next season. He needs to add 15 lbs and he'll be ready. He is strong on the puck and that caught my eye. I would love to see him on the same line as Crosby or Malkin. Wouldnt that be sweet?

I think Luca could put the puck in the net in any league. He'll have to prove he can back check at the NHL level.

Caputi is back I think. Pens have a boat load of GOOD young guys in their system so it will be even tougher for an even younger guy to work his way in. There is no rush for Luca and I'm pretty sure the Pens know that. Remember he is a 4th rounder so another year in the OHL won't hurt his development. Like a few have said, he needs to add size to his tall frame. I remember at the beginning of the year he was soooooooooooooo soft getting pushed off the puck and always said if he only had size. He definitely got a lot stronger as the year went on, but I think he needs a bit more for his height at the next level. He'll be there one day, but he'll be in the OHL next year. Not saying he can't have a great camp, but odds are against him I think.
Remember Corrente is a first rounder from 2006 and he only got an extended stay last year on a team he probably could have cracked the line up in or at least the farm teams lineup.
We need to remember that an extra year a junior level helps them mature mentally too. I think it goes a long ways for their attitudes. Caputi will definitely be counted on as a leader next year more so than this year. I think it would do wonders for his attitude as well.
I could only imagine Legien's attitude had he not been injured coming back from the WJHC. The role he played on that team was nothing like he had before. That injury hurt him more than we could imagine. Had he been able play right away, we would have seen a sooooooooooo much better hockey player. I don't think Myleslong was too far off in his post the other day about Stefan. Yes, it was a bit harsh, but don't think he said anything too far from the truth. I think coming back for one more year in the OHL could do wonders for Luca's attitude and his development as a leader.

OK Skatee...I know you read this knowing I'd not be impressed...
First off...not ever role on every hockey team is to score goals...on some lines, thats just a bonus. Stef's role on Team Canada was to stop puck advancement and keep the Canadian zone clear of power forwards...his was an offensive defence role...HE PLAYED IT PERFECTLY AS DID THE REST OF HIS LINE.
As for his return after the World Juniors...the kid lost 20 pounds while away and the healing of his injury was slowed because of it. There is SO much that you DON"T know yet everyone likes to sit here and think they have the right to pass judgement. What ever happened to if you don't have anything nice to say SHUT THE "bleep" UP! That is not directed at any one particular individule but rather as a general suggestion to all negative naysayers who don't know the real story...nor the kid involved. Keep in mind people...as we all do...folks read things like this and run with them and truth gets entirely distorted and fiction becomes assumed fact. Yes those comments where more than harsh and unless you have TRUE insider knowledge as to who the kid is, what the kid is about, or what he has gone thru...then I ask you...what gives you the right to give the kid a pat on the back followed by a slap in the face. Support does not involve criticism. He has an agent, a girlfriend, a family and teamates to slap sense in to him if need be...we are supposed to be fans...we are supposed to be supportive...those who are not THAT close to him HAVE NO RIGHT to pass judgement...
There...my peace has been spoken...

One more thing...people like to look at Stef and think that he is just a prankster, a fool, a joker. Someone who just lets things role off his back...well you would all be WRONG. This kid FEELS everything and is an incredibly emotional person. He is passionate about everything from the fight he puts up when defending a teammate to the hurt he feels when emotionally wounded...He is a kid...a 19 year old kid who has (I've said it before) seen more changes and gone thru more emotional highs and lows in the last 16 months than many of us see in a lifetime...LET US NOT FORGET HE IS HUMAN...and still...just a kid

I was at the banquet tonight and Denise Burke said it's more likely than not that Luca will be leaving. Even when they were making their presentations they referred to him as one of the four players not returning next season.
I was lucky enough:hurray: to talk to Luca briefly after getting my picture with him:001_wub:, and my Caputi jersey signed:thumbup:. He said he is leaving either tomorrow or this week (I can't remember, I was too excited being that close to him:001_tt1:) for Pittburghs ahl team in Scranton.
I am so sad that he is leaving but wish him nothing but success in his hockey career. He is an incredible player and an even more amazing person.
I'll miss you Luca!:y1:

Wow buddy you missed the boat on my post............I was complimenting and was totally impressed with what he did in the world juniors. maybe I should have said even better instead of sooooooooooooooo much better. sorry. Stef wouldn't be where he is if people didn't offer criticsims. If people just praised him and patted him on the back, thougout his journey, he would never be where he is today. Noone ever questioned him as a person, only his attitude.
Last time I checked message board was for discussion and opinion. You have yours and I have mine and everyone else has his or her own too.

Again if you have been first hand witness to his attitude then go ahead. I am not suggesting people just pat him on the back. If he screws a play up then discuss. If he goes out drinkin one night and gets in a bar fight then criticise...AGAIN...WHAT are these criticisms based on????

I wish that were true but I believe that their agents have been negotiating with some NHL teams and that would make more sense to me. It would be great to still be able to watch those guys but I don't see it happening...I have been wrong before and I am not saying it couldn't happen but I would be very surprized. Go Swifty...Go George...Go Ice Dogs

I heard that Swift might if he doesn't get a pro contract but I'm fully expecting him to get a pro contract somewhere. Who knows where though. As for Foreman who knows I think he might get a sniff somewhere based on the size of his heart and dedication... not to mention obvious skill.
IF those 2 played for Brock all I gotta say is that the Badgers would be a million times better and I would attend more games!
