I agree!!

Oh well, I would rather see a brand new convention centre in St. Catharines anyways, one that could be home to the Niagara IceDogs.

Niagara Falls had their chance to get the IceDogs three times and was declined, mainly because of tax payers money not being able to foot the bill to build a $30,000,000 arena, but now they will build this convention centre hahaha
Wheres this money coming from??? Falls tax payers still??

Well they are going to get a lot more out of a 30 000 000 convention center then a 30 000 000 arena.

I don't really see the difference??

Arena's are also muti purpose facilities that can make money, they can hold all sorts of sporting events (including indoor stock car racing), conventions, big concerts, circuses, wrestling, etc....

this area needs more ice...period... you wouldnt belive how hard it is to get ice time for a tyke team to have some extra practice during the season. Ice around st.kitts is at a premium..at $150 + per hour.... if you dont have good sponcors..then best of luck getting anything extra than the alloted 1 game and 1 practice a week.
We were lucky enough to get some ice at Ridley...old rink...but the kids didnt care.. that $90 per hour...

FYI the new convention centre is funded as such

1/3 federal govt
1/3 provincial govt
1/3 local business community

so, all of us in ontario, whereever we live, is helping fund 2/3 of the arena, errrrrrrrr, convention centre

I agree. Look at the AUD in Kitchener. It's the home of the Rangers and some city minor teams, but it also doubles as a convention center, concert venue, and a venue for other sports.
