6-5 loss to Erie Otters. DeSousa had a hat trick.
Dogs go 1-3-2 in preseason.
Anyone drive down to the game?

Not a great record, but... 33 goals scored in 6 games!
If the can average 5.5 goals a game this year I think they'll do alright <grin>

Last year as the highest scoring team in the CHL they averaged 4.8 goals a game.
With one of their best forwards still away at camp they will undoughtably still score plenty of goals. Also with two of their better D-men and a first string goalie away and another hurt their goals against will be allot better than the pre-season.
Nothing to worry about, the real hockey will start soon. :D

Pre-season records mean squat to me. Erie went undefeated...let's see how they do...now that it's for real.
When the season starts and we have our full team...then we can really start talkin'. Defense should be better too.
Still, it's good to see that after losing some offense from last years squad they can still find the back of the net.
OK IceDogs...let's git er dun!:D

Yes, they may have lost the game but the important thing is that they came out of the game healthy and without any further suspensions.

Like I have been saying the entire time and seems like pretty much everyone agrees, Pre-season means NOTHING.

Oh I wouldnt say that pre-season is meaningless... When else would they be able to evaluate new talent?

Well i mean in terms of how they are going to do that year.

Yes, in terms on how it reflects on the season, I agree with you.

It is actually a pretty exciting time of year. Some people judge a team on it though and I don't think that its the right way to look at things.

No, its not fair to judge a team by its pre-season performance. I find it pretty exciting though. Watching the young players fight for a spot on the squad can be pretty entertaining.

They were 2-0-2 according to their site but that doesnt include the two weekend games they had.

Also, a lot of the players and front office consider them to be our biggest rival... before the Plymouth game, I might have agreed but am rethinking that now.

I think we only play Plymouth twice...

yes once at home (Nov 1st) and once there (Oct 27th). I realize that a rivalry cant be a rivalry if you only play a team twice during a 68 game schedule.
