So whatever happened to the big "spread" in the Standard?

People have been reporting a "big spread" in the Standard about the players today.

I bought the Standard. I did not see a big spread.. just two articles about the dogs.. joining forces with police.. to do presentations at schools.. and a little story about Burke..

Get this.....
I went to the 7-11 here in Welland and bought the Standard today. I got home, anxious to look at the pull-out section on the Dogs.... Nope, nothing there. So I call the Standard and they tell me that it was only inserted in the papers of subscribers. They then tell me that if I went to the East Main St office of the Welland Tribune I could get one. Well I went to that office ... the people at the trib looked at me like I had three heads.. never heard of the insert...I return home, get the address of the Standard in St Kitts. Drove to the office and got the insert for free (after waiting 20 mins) then rushed home to read it... all it contained was one poorly written article on the Dogs and pictures of the players and stats.

I have to say I was HIGHLY disappointed. I was expecting articles (note the plural) on the Dogs organization, players, arena and fans. Nope not there.

I hope the coverage that the Standard provides for the Dogs this season is a hell of a lot better than this so called season preview.

yeah no ****.... the Standard is one ajoke of a news paper... I would once like to find more articles written by their own people.

The one article in the paper today was ripped off of NHL.com

I was actually pretty happy with it! Probably because I totally forgot about it, took the paper out of the mailbox 10 mins ago, and had a nice insert with all the players photos and stats. It also has a page with the entire 07/08 schedule. I would have like to see some more player interviews though. Most of the media so far has been with the office staff and how they're preparing for the season and what not, but I'd like to get to know the players better.

I bought five, YES FIVE!!! St. Catharines Standard newspapers today on my break from work, I was in a hurry and a few people here in Welland wanted the "Inserts" also, well guess what!! ...Just like you all, there wasn't any inserts in the papers!!!

The Sun had an OHL spread today... and listed us a top contender.... which was nice to see.... too bad our local F*&%* paper does nothing for a NEW OHL team in town.... bunch of (insert your word here) clowns
