Finally saw the list of suspensions on the OHL site.
Here's the IceDogs:
<table border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="461"><tbody><tr><td width="93">Niagara </td> <td width="112"> Jordan Foreman</td> <td width="93"> Sept. 13</td> <td width="68"> 2 Games</td> <td width="90"> Sept. 28</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="93">Niagara </td> <td width="112"> Coach Mario Cicchillo</td> <td width="93"> Sept. 13</td> <td width="68"> 2 Games</td> <td width="90"> Sept. 28</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="93">Niagara</td> <td width="112"> Paul Gismondi</td> <td width="93"> Sept. 13</td> <td width="68"> 2 Games</td> <td width="90"> Sept. 28</td></tr></tbody></table>

That sucks, I was really looking forward to seeing Foreman in action at the home opener. And without our coach too!? Geez... Plymouth was frustrated with us (and the refs I guess for calling those early penalties, although they were deservd) on the scoreboard and took the game into their own hands. We didn't start that brawl. That big 6'7" gorilla went after Pietrangelo and that was what set it off.

I thought for sure that the Plymouth coach would have got something for sending that big galoot out there to stir things up. But they got nothing from it. I don't agree with that at all.

I was fully expecting to see Foreman suspended for the home opener. The league has to suspend him for being 3rd man in... its unfortunate, I really wanted to see him in the lineup opening night but it wasnt unexpected. What I didnt expect was to see Coach suspended.. it must be a mandated suspension for having a player leave the bench.
I, too, would expect to see a lengthy list of Whalers players (and the coach) suspended. Hopefully they just havent annouced those suspensions as of yet....

Because the OHL site did not list any suspensions to the Plymouth Whalers, I wrote to the OHL for clarification. Here is what I got in response to my inquirey:
Dear Jeff:
Please be advised that there were players from both Plymouth and Niagara who were ejected with game misconducts that are allowed to be "bought back". Such penalties are not listed as they are technically not suspended.
The Niagara players and their suspensions which are listed are not eligible to be bought-back. Also, Plymouth's coach was fined for his actions.
I trust this clarifies your query.
Thank you for your interest in the Ontario Hockey League.
Regards,
Herb Morell, OHL
Director of Administration
So I guess that means nobody from Plymouth got suspended....

I then asked for clarification concerning the "bought back" policy and this is the response I received:
The buy-back of game misconducts is an option that the teams have for game misconducts from exhibition games only. The ones that can be bought back are less severe types of game misconducts - the more severe game misconducts cannot be bought back.
For example, game misconducts for second fight same stoppage or verbal abuse can be bought back while game misconducts for leaving the player's bench or checking from behind cannot be bought back.
Hope this clarifies that concept a little further
Nope not good news for Dogs fans, but, I have to say, I am very impressed that he would take the time to answer the emails. He did so in a few mins time.

The IceDogs coach is susspended due to the fact one of his players left the bench to join a fight already in progress. This is normal. :(

yeah they started it and got away with it. and also the guy that took the run at Bergeron got away with it too.
Yes I was expecting Coach to be suspended... I would believe that suspension is mandated by the league for having a player come off the bench.
