POLL: Do you like the new arena look or prefer it the old way?

i'll have to wait and see till the new stuff is done...i would like to see new seats in there...more comfy than the wooded bench type... if they do things right... then the open ceiling type thing may work.... but there is not enough seats in there so it may look too open and diminish the crowd... wait and see i guess...

Yah apparently that was just opened up so they could do some work. But I agree - it would look too much like an old barn with it opened up. The low ceiling gives a much more 'cozy' feel to it.

So they'll probably be keeping it that way then eh? Darn. It makes the seating part look so much more tiny. Our arena is small enough as it is, we don't need to make it look even smaller! With the ceiling in place it gave a much more closed-in intimate feeling.

Oh well, I guess I should reserve judgement until I see it packed with people.

Ya when you look at those pictures, the old silver ceiling made the arena look bigger but when the arena fills up, it still gets pretty loud.

Also, with the roof opened up, it'll probably keep the arena a lot colder which should give a better ice surface (which I'm guessing, is why they did it in the first place).

Yeah but the rink looks smaller than most recreational rinks. They need to open that ceiling up.

Yes, but it looks like there's more people with the ceiling, because *relative* to the small roof height, it makes the small amount of seating look like there's more people. When you only have a handful of rows of seating and a HUGE open roof, it makes the seats look even fewer. IMHO.

The ice is smaller than pretty much every OHL rink. Adding the silver ceiling or leaving it off won't make the ice bigger.
