This is a game that I would have lovd to attend in person, but due to work commitments and the accessibility to the "OHL Action Pack" I will take in the game from the comfort of my own home, I am hoping that maybe one day in the future we icedogfans.com forum posters will eventually be able to organize "away" bus trips so we can all support the IceDogs on the road. :)

Yeah if im not working I will more then likely be on the chat room as well. I wish somewhere in the Niagara region would get the OHL superpack so we could all watch the away games together with some food or something.

Yah we need a sports bar to commandeer. Some place we can agree with them beforehand to have the game up on some big screens. Wrigley's Field? Lots of big screens, it's a sports bar, and right off the QEW.. ??

If that could be arranged, I would be interested in going.

Definitely. Get like 15 or 20 guys and gals enjoying some good food and drink, all wearing our IceDogs jerseys watching it on the big screens. Would make for a good atmosphere.

i called wriglies...and it was like speaking to a two by four...
first i had to explain who the ice dogs where... then i had to explain where they were from.... oh sir..and what sport is it?.... this is when I smashed my head off the wall...so i continued to give a OHL history lesson... oh are those the ice dogs from mississauaga... oh boy... yes they are... what are they doing down here... if they play here then just go and watch the game at the arena....at this point i was at me end...

Heidi the manager will be in a 6pm and i will call and ask her.... WOW i say...

Amazing. That is precisely the uphill battle the Burke's are fighting. But with our help, hopefully the Dogs will become a known quantity to non-OHL fans!

My god.. anyone know anyone at the Standard? THIS would make a GREAT newspaper article. How a well established SPORTS bar doesn't know anything about the largest sports franchise to hit the city in decades.

I mean, I can't be MAD at the for not knowing, it's just ignorance. It's not like they CHOOSE not to know about OHL hockey or what goes on in their city. I'm still going to post a huge spread on the main page about this. If a sportsbar wants to be known as such, it's gotta take the good AND bad reputation of it.

AlphaDog
09-26-2007, 03:11 PM
I can see this being big news now....

Does anyone want to put 30 mins of their day aside and do an assignment?

Call up as many sports bars/eateries as you can find in the phone book and just tell them you're conducting a poll about local sports knowledge, and ask them if they know who the Niagara IceDogs are.?

maybe write down the names of the places, then what their responses are...

IF someone can do this I'll post the results on the main web page. http://www.icedogfans.com

It would be great to see the differences in different municipalities.

I am headed to Wriglys for a bit to eat and watch the game (hopefully). We dont have the OHL package and I am jonesing for a Dogs game. Come join us if you like. I will be the only one there wearing a Mn Wild hat lol

The only way to keep from having the game action spoiled for you is to listen to it on the radio and not on the feed provided on the site. There seems to be about a 4-5 min delay.

Here's to an IceDogs victory tonight!!

Yeah i was foolish this week and bought Halo 3 along with every other nerd in the world and im broke. Can't afford any food to go out tonight. I have to find an AM radio.

Just watching the replay now, there is NO way that should of been a penalty shot at all, the slash didn't even effect him.

Yah that call was a joke. Would have made me REALLY angry if he had scored on the penalty shot. Oh well, at least we managed to hold on for a win, and ruin Ottawa's home opener for their fans in the process (I'm evil...)

I agree. that call was a joke. I think it was a questionable penalty at best and in no way should a penalty shot have been awarded. It was a hard earned victory and I am very glad we came away with the 2 points!

I am confused here.

After checking the OHL site and the IceDogs website they had Lonbsinger in net last night for his first game. During the game the radio guy keep saying "Loverock", maybe he was even confused.

If it was Logsinger then this is great news for the Dogs, two top notch goalies back again. The dogs have the best 1-2 punch again in the OHL.

Loverock was in goal last night. The story on the front page of the Dogs website list Loverock as the goalie as well:
http://niagaraicedogs.net/index.php?module=newser&func=display&nid=67

From what I understand, Lobsinger should be back sometime in Oct.

They have changed it then because this morning it said Lucas Lobsinger. The OHL website still list Lobsinger in net.

I didn't think he was ready yet.

I sent OHL.com an email about that error (Loverock played). I guess they don't read their email.
