Annual Black and White Intersquad Game
Friday, August 28, 2009
Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre

There were three things that didn't happen last season at the Black & White Game:

1. Broke the glass behind the net
2. Fight (Andrews and Baldassarra)
3. Shootout

Great shots Lois!

IMPORTANT: You may notice a bunch of the pictures, if you click on them, aren't showing up. This is because they're over the maximum size allowed.

The best thing to do is re-size them down before uploading. I usually resize all mine down to about 1000-1200 pixels wide. There are batch converters that do this in a flash (like IrfanView which is what I use).

Edit: WOW! I just checked and a lot of your images are almost half a meg each! Those are big images. Which are fine for some people, but it's going to make backing up the site (which I do a few times a month) a LOT slower as time goes on.

I'll download all your images, re-size them, then re-post them. I'm going to drop down the maximum size allowed for images, to 300kb (which still allows for full-screen sized imagse). I never thought of that when I set the size... if we start getting thousands of 500kb images, backups will take forever. :)

(ps. there were a total of 14 images which you sent that the forum rejected due to being over the size limit)

Edit: done. All images in the ^^ above post in this thread have been downloaded, resized, and reuploaded. 'Went from being almost 30MB in size, to 7.7mb.

Hey AD, thanks for editing the pics. I had re-sized the photos to 1200 pixels wide and came back to the site to find out that you've done that for me. My program only allows me to re-size one pic at a time. Thanks again AD.

ack! Yah grab Irfanview ( http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967 )

you can batch-select as many files as you want. You can also have it either replace the current image with the resized one, or just make a new file with a new name. Great program, I've been using it for years.

If you ever want to add a tag below your mages (just some text of what the game is, date, etc) I use another great and small program called CopyRightLeft: http://copyrightleft.en.softonic.com/ <- this is an EXCELLENT program for reducing the file size of pictures without reducing the quality too. I don't know how but when you use it to add text to an group of images, the result images are the same size as far as pixels go, but the file size is often 30% less. Great program.

I usually batch resize/rename everything with Irfanview first, then batch-tag everything with CopyRightLeft, then upload.
