hey guys ...
I think we need to get into the faces of the sports bars in "Niagara" we need to just call them and ask if they are playing the dogs games...I think if they have enough people calling about this then .. it will open alot of eyes...i am going to call everyone on this list today and see what they say....let me knows if there are any other bars that should be added to the list ...
thanks (sorry for all the typos)
steve

The Duck appears to be the most excited about the dogs... I always asked for a manager when i called these places. The Duck manager siad he is a season ticket holder and his bar will definatly have the games on. Boston Pizza in St Catharines seems completely unknowledgable about the dogs..Although , they are aware of the dogs. they arent sure if they will have the games on. The BP's in the falls will not have them on....unless there are alot of people who wanna see it.
Alot of the sports bars seemed to be closed today , or maybe not in yet ... due to it being 11:00am when i called.. who knows..
Also .. i cant find the # for Time Out ... the dude at the pepper siad to go there ...

for those that cant make it to the thursday games... i know i know... go to the game instead of a bar...but you know how people are
Isn't it sad that Boston Pizza being a sponcor has this attitude...
If I was a bar owner...I would make a special for all away games...and bring the fans in...it's not a difficult concept...or is it....

I would like to reiterate:
I was at the Boston Pizza Pen Center last Friday night for the Dogs-67's game. The game was on -- and it was featured on most of the screens in the bar (One screen had the Leafs game, one had the Buzztime trivia).
I even pointed out to the manager there that I came because the game was on there. He seemed knowledgable enough about the team to me.
Did you call Pen Center or Ontario Street?

THe Duck is good. Looks like a dive from the outside, and parking can be iffy when it's busy, but they've got CHEAP fish & chips on Friday. I've only been there maybe twice though.

I think we should either...
1: Pick a bar that is a sponsor of the game (although not required)
2: Pick a non-chain bar. Someone who has local ownership of the place.
It should be a decent size so you're not all cramped around tables and a small screen stuck in the corner. That's why I like Wrigley's - big screens, big booths, open concept, tons of parking.
Maybe a place that gives like a buck off pitchers of beer or pizza if the person's wearing an IceDogs jersey :D

I agree... and yes, Wrigley's would be my first choice, but as I found out firsthand Friday night, they do not carry the OHL. I am hoping that they will order the package now.
It would be great if we could pick one place and show up there to watch away games. Having some wings and a few beers/pops are a great way to cheer on our Dogs!

Yep. I'm not hard-stuck on Wrigleys by any means. It's just a great place to watch games at (we used to go there for Leaf games).
I'd much rather choose a place that is genuinely interested in the Dogs games though.
If you guys can narrow it down to a handful of good sites, maybe someone can post a poll about it and we can go from there.

I live in Welland and am not familiar with a lot of the places in St Kitts... so I wont be any help in finding a place. Just let me know where we are all going to meet to watch the game lol

I cannot agree with you more, the duck looks like an absolute dump from the outside. I used to live behind there on Thomas St., and me and my girlfriend/fiance/wife would often stumble up there once every couple of weeks for grub and beers.
I recommend the "pizzo" (panzarotti), they're great....also, they have great poutine, and of course, duck burgers.....the draft is cold and cheap....
So, don't think twice about going in there, if the outside scares ya away...lol...they pack em in there on a friday night! I will have to check out the duck sometimes when the dogs are on the road, drag the wife out there, and then act "shocked" :D when I say "wow, they play away game ice dogs games on tv in there"....hehehehehehe
Go Dogs.

I agree, we should pick one bar kinda, and try and stick to it...or rotate between a few...although I'm sure I'd miss most games due to wife related issues lol!

i agree also... pick a place..become regualrs during away games... and the rest is history...like was said already... the place needs to have decent TV...and good eats...other than that...I'm easy...LOL...dont tell the wife....

someone create an open poll with the deadline of 1 week..
narrow the bars down... and be specific... for example: boston pizza (glendale) and then have one for the other Boston Pizza...
