So the line forms behind you to get at maguire?? great! I am next!! On a whole, I generally hate most color commentaters.... but yes, tsn team on tonight is the bottom of the barrel.

Then there is the studio team. the only one I like in the studio is duthie(spelling?). I cant stand mckenzie...

The one thing I'll give Mckenzie is he knows a LOT about hockey at the junior level.

I like Healy though. McGuire is a Don Cherry wanna-be, trying to come across all hard-nosed and loud mouthed, but it doesn't work. Only Don does it right.

I admit i was pissed to come back from commercial and find out I missed a scrap. They could have at least shown the fight in its entirety after, instead of all of it with the last 5 seconds cut off.

Other than that, I don't mind TSN. (wow Steen just got hammere by Nazaros)

They do a good job on the technical aspect of things.

McGuire's a meat-head. its funny how bad he wants to copy the highly outspoken style of Don cherry yet Mcguire is anti-fighting. at least he used to juding from the way he talked about fighting.

Wow im the only one who likes TSN around here...? As much as you can hate Mcguire, he knows what hes talking about.

You're the MONSTER of the day Rio!

Yah overall I like TSN. It doesn't have that 'ole Canadian hockey feeling that CBC has, but they've always done a good job from as far as I can tell. I'm glad Darren Dutceshen doesn't wear as much lipstick as he used to. He used to be borderline pretty.

BTW: What is Pierre McGuire's claim to hockey fame? Did he play or coach in the NHL? What's his background?

I have no clue what McGurie's claim to fame is.... his big mouth??? sorry that was a low blow...

Well a lot of them were either players, or refs, or whatever... but what makes McGuire's words-of-wisdom so sacred (or worth anything for that matter). Was he a junior player? Anyone?

I'm sure TSN didn't just scrape him up off the sidewalk, dust him off, and chuck him into a studio room. He's got to have SOME hockey credentials.

He was assistant coach for the Penguins cup winning teams in the early 90's I think.

i dont mind TSN...prefer to watch CBC... remember the days when not all the games were telivised... that was tourture... now that every game can be watched... I dont care who shows it... if I dont like a commentator...I switch the channel or start listening to what the wife is saying...

From Wikipedia

"Pierre McGuire (born August 8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_8), 1961 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1961)) is an ice hockey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey) analyst and provides colour commentary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_commentary) for hockey programs on TSN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_NHL_on_TSN) and The NHL on NBC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_NHL_on_NBC), where he is the lead "Inside the Glass" analyst. Scouts win Cups?? :) Only if the guys the scout win, but that would be YEARS later :)

Ok, so I guess he's got a bit of hockey credentials. Not enough to justify his all-knowing attitude, but I supposed I'll classify him as a "hockey guy" from now on. Hehe.

Thanks for the minibio Dogsphoto

I was pissed when they cut out that scrap. Like common, what station does that?

Healy is good, but Pierre is a piece of crap haha.

I met Healy in France at the vimy ridge ceremonies last year. It was the day we all found out the Leafs didn't make the playoffs and I asked him what he thought and he was VERY disappointed as was I. Great guy though. Took time to get an autograph and everything. He was there playing bagpipes.

If I don't like the commentary I just hit the mute button and put on the radio. I don't have to hear what they're saying. It's just like being there live. :)
