The IceDogs will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the Community Care program today.
Saginaw is coming off a loss in Belleville on Saturday night so they will really tired coming into our rink. If we can jump on them early and often we should come out on top. Although Along with that we could get caught up in the fact they played last night and forget to work, so here's to that NOT happening!

I think that as long as we get a good start, (wishful thinking for a repeat of Thursdays 5 goal lead), and correct the 2nd period down syndrome effect (joking), then finish off protecting the lead in the third, we should have another great ice dogs win. Hopefully Ottawa will lose to the Greyhounds without a shootout (which is what I believe will happen, the Greyhounds are hot), and I think that will put us at the top of the western conference with 5-1 over their potential 4-1.
Cheers

I thought it was a good game, mind you I thought that most of the penalties against both teams were questionable calls.
When we play a game with one ref you reallly notice the difference compared to two, mind you I am now not really sure which is better and which is worse.
Just for the record, alot of people at todays game thought that the other ref was a no show and they decided to start the game without the second ref, but last Wednesday while watching the Owen Sound & Plymouth game on TV they said that 60% of games in the OHL will have two ref's while the remaining 40% of the games will only have one ref, the reason? I am not quite sure, they didn't explain it, but if anyone knows I would like to know why also.
Why wasn't Corrente in todays lineup? he wasn't suspended to was he??
I thought just DeSousa and Van Laren were suspended.
One more thing I would like to know??
did that one shot off the apparent cross bar in teh first period actually go in??
It sure looked like it on the replay.

that puck definatly went in. i cant believe no one on our side questioned it, under review it would have been a goal. I saw it when it happened that it was in, and i was calling for a review but i guess no one heard me...lol.

Corrente took the pregame skate but midway throught it, he left the ice. Because I know other teams read this site, all I will say is that it appears to be an upper body injury. If you would like details, pm me and I would be happy to tell you what I saw.

Good game. Great individual effort by Legein on the first goal. The crowd seemed a lot more lively for this afternoons game than the one that Brampton was in town!

My take on the todays game.... WE SHOWED UP FOR THE SECOND PERIOD!!!
I thought the guys played well. Merritt's game has improved so much over the last week or so. Legein.... he never takes a shift off. now if he can just stay out of the box.
It was a well played, hard fought victory.
I much prefer seeing two Ref's out there rather than just one.

Yah the ref missed some stuff, but OntarioQuizzer from this forum sure let him know about it :) I think he was trying to make up for stuff he missed later in the game.
Loverock was outstanding a couple less saves and it easily could have been 5-4 Saginaw.

Yes, Loverock stole the game for us today.

Where would you rank Loverock in terms of OHL goalies?

One has to look beyond the numbers to truly appreciate the job Loverock has done for the Dogs so far. He has been the best goaltender I have seen so far this season. He has been better than average, I would say he is a top 5 to 7 goaltender so far.

Then you will appreciate how good the tandem is when you see Lobsinger play.
This team has two very good 'tenders that can be #1 on any team.

I would have to wait and see every #1 goalie to place Loverock but i think he is good enough to lead a team to an OHL Championship.

great game... wasn't able to make it but i watched it on tv. The missed goal should have been reviewed....it was 100%...they showed it on tv a few times real slow...i cant belive no one on the team disputed that...oh well.
What were the attendance numbers... i missed it when they announced it.
Loverock was great...and Legien...let me tell ya... that kid is a star.

Attendance was announced at just over 2,000

Two refs just means twice as many bad calls, i like one ref personally. Why cant they just make the right call to begin with instead of evening it up a little later. And how do we get a goaltender interferance penalty when our guy gets crushed into the goalie by a saginaw defenseman, this drives me nuts. And while were at why is the sky blue?
GO DOGS GO.

And with our smaller ice surface we can't fit too many people on the ice as it is :) I think our team has a bit of a bigger chip on their shoulders than other, and *may* be a bit dirtier with the hacks and slashes, so with one ref we might get away with a bit more on average. :D

Well white light (all visible colours of the spectrum) come from the sun, but after the rays hit and pass through the water, only the wavelength of blue light is refracted back up to the sky, the rest being absorbed, so the sky appears blue.

Legein did dispute it and was talking with the ref. I would assume he was asking him to review the play but the ref said no goal.
