This should be an interesting poll.
Should John Tavares be able to enter the NHL draft this upcoming year, or do you think the NHL will bend the rules? Does he have to hit 90 goals to be exempt from the age rule? What are your thoughts? Answer yes or no then post.
My answer is no. If they didnt bend the rules for Sid the Kid then they won't for Tavares.

My answer is no.
Rules are rules for a reason. Whats going to happen when there is a 15 year old Phenom??? Debate the merits of making him draft eligible?

The only thing with that is. They shouldn't exempt them into the OHL if they aren't will to do it in the NHL as well. I obviously agree that he shouldn't be eligible but it's there own fault that he's going to have to spend a whole season next year because they bent the rules for him to get into the OHL.

Yeah I know we are on the same page, it's just stupid because he's going to be just dominating everyone this season and next. My friend was thinking that he should go play a year in Europe before going to the NHL. I'm not so sure about that though.

I think that when the NHL turns down his application he will come back to the OHL.
