Folks;

I'm looking at the possibility of organizing a bus trip up to Brampton on either Friday, December 7th or Friday, March 7th, dependent on what type of feedback I receive over the course of the week or two.

For the most part, you'd be looking at about 50-60 dollars, which would cover the cost of your ticket, transportation, dinner before the game at an eatery (bar) TBD, and a few drinks and appetizers after the game back in Niagara (again, location TBD).

If you or anyone you know would be interested, let me know and I will begin to organize and hold a block of about 40 tickets for either date...

I look forward to your feedback! Chris.

PS If anyone is interested in helping organize, send me an e-mail at christopher.dabrowski@[NO EMAIL POSTING ALLOWED]

PPS I spelled Brampton's team name wrong in the subject, but really don't care... ;)

wow 50 or 60$ for all that.

Sound's like a really cheap price!

i would really be down for that!

your a champ! for doing this!

The price is a guesstimate lol ... Rest assured I wouldn't be organzing this for a profit though...

If it's a Friday I'd be interested. Well, actually I'd probably prefer to drive myself as Brampton is just around the corner. But if you're buying tickets all together I'll go through you that way I can sit with everyone (then again - looking at the game this afternoon - it looks like you can move to whatever seats you want anyway).

Niagara Ice Dogs
10-08-2007, 06:19 PM
What I think I'll do is grab a block of tickets, and allocate them to those who are interested in the full package first... Upon sellout (I don't want to lose money), I will then ask Brampton if I can have a smaller block next to the bigger block.

Just want to make sure I don't lose my shirt!

Okay -- I'm confident I could rally up enough troops to head up to Brampton via bus... Let me looking into things this week, and if all goes as planned... I'll have a bar sponsor... the bus booked, and discussions with Brampton's ticket office. I'm confident they will be willing to work together with the looks of the empty seats at the arena at today's game.

I'll keep you all posted.

I think I would rather drive (like I did today) but would definately want to sit with the group. It was cool today, we had about 20 of us RIGHT behind the Dogs bench. I think we made more noise than the Brampton fans!

Niagara Ice Dogs

Regardless, I'll keep you all posted in terms of price, logistics etc... I think it'd be cool to all arrive in a bus ... Don't have to worry about D&D, and can probably pack individual coolers for a pre-game warm up ;)

Just curious as to why Brampton? Why not take a game most people can't get too?

ItsGameTime
10-08-2007, 08:41 PM
I think going to a game in a place like Kitchener would be a little more exciting, the atmosphere in that building is really good and they play on Dec 28th (a Friday) against the Dogs.

Niagara Ice Dogs
10-08-2007, 08:43 PM
I think we have a rivalry with Brampton, that may not be so apparent now, but by December will be...

We could go over the river, but that's a pain in the ass w/ passports etc. We could make it a 3-4 hour drive, but on a Friday that means people have to leave work early. We could also make it a longer road trip, which would require either 1. An overnight stay (would bump up the cost considerably) 2. A VERY late arrival back into Niagara.

I figure with Brampton, we can all meet at the Bar (TBD) at 5pm, hit the road for no later than 5:45pm, which would put us at the game before the puck dropped... We would be home (back at the bar) for 11:30 pm or so, have some eats... beers... and hit the sack by 2am...

ItsGameTime

I figure with Brampton, we can all meet at the Bar (TBD) at 5pm

If you plan on leaving St. Catharines at 5:45 on a Friday afternoon be prepared for a buttload of traffic on the QEW in Oakville. It might not be that bad around 6 or 7 but I don't think you'd want to take any chances

Hey, we could plan a "mass migration" - everyone meet at the arena with tickets we've purchased already, then all drive in a convoy! Would be even better if we all had window flags!! Like 4 flags for each car!!! Get 10 cars with 20-40 flags shooting out down the highway together.... they opponents fans wouldnt know what to expect when they saw a convoy like that arrive!

Now that's a hell of an idea... Alright, December 7th ... Brampton ... Let's get this going... 5pm we are leaving the arena ... Anyone interested? This will alleviate a logistical nightmare with the bus and turn-out to be a lot cheaper.

I'll make sure the local media is aware for a photo-op.

If we have ten cars a go... then it will be worthwhile... Let's see where this goes.

WellandDogsFan
10-09-2007, 06:40 PM
I will do some asking around the next few days. depending on the number ordered they will probably be 20-30 bucks (because we arent talking about a huge order) and we would have to get permission from the Burke's to sue the logo. they may even want to do it if we get enough people ordering them.

I wouldn't think so. Nor would I ask (please don't! Or at least please don't mention the site's name if you do!) This site needs to remain completely it's own entity with no affiliations. I'm more than happy to pay for my own flags if/when they become available.

BUUUUT... maybe we could have someone make up a big banner sign!!?? Like the kind that goes across 10 seats!? With HUGE letters...

Anyway, looking forward to our trip on the 7th.

AlphaDog

OH OH OH... know what we SHOULD do...

What time does the bus leave? We should drive up and stay next to the bus on the highway with all our car flags - to show the team our support while we drive! I think it would be pretty cool if they players looked out and saw a big convoy of cars next to them all with IceDogs flags flapping in the wind as they drove to Brampton.

they like to arrive two hours prior to the game (I read that somewhere) so I would guess they are leaving between 3 and 4. That would be too early for me.

..and I heard on the news yesterday that Nike will be dropping it's Bauer line of hockey sports gear (clothing, equipment, etc) due to lack of interest in it in the States. So maybe all the business is being shifted to Reebok (either that or those Sidney Crosbey commercials are really paying off!)

I just got back from the IceDogs office. I had to pick up tickets for the rest of the October home games. I already have an Oct.18th ticket (sec.L/row G/seat17) but couldnt get that seat for 2 of the other games, but will be in same section/row, but seat 12, then back to seat 17 for the last game of the month.

I talked to Denise - she loved our idea for putting flags on our cars for our convoy by the way! - and there WILL be car flags available for sale soon. The kind that clip on to the window. I'll probably buy 3 - one for each window and take off the clip on the other one and stick it on my antenna.

If we could get each car sporting at least 2 each, that would be great!

Well if all goes well we'll have a big cotton sheet attached to 2 wooden sticks (hockey stick butts?) and we can put something in huge letters across that, and stretch it over like 6 or 8 seats :)

LIke I said before, "ICEDOGS INVADE BATTALION" in huge letters right behind visitor's bench would be nice to see on TV :D

Anyone know if local printing/graphics companies could make something up like that? Maybe on a 2' x 12' sheet of plastic or vinyl?

Or if we can fine letter stenciling we could just spraypaint it. But using paint, stencils would have to be a must otherwise it would just look cheap/crappy. But I'd still prefer to get it done at a graphics place that can do a good job and pay the 20 or 30 bucks for it.

Reimer Graphics did some decals for my car years ago, and it looks like they're still going strong (2 brothers used to be the entire operation). I'll send them an email... some of the type of stuff they do is murals and such
