Welcome to the new NHL. He played well enough to be on the team but was sent down cause he has a two way deal.

Once he starts racking up the points in the 'A the big team will see he's too valuable to leave down there.
Think of it like this.
It's alot cheaper to see a Marlies game then a Leafs one

not really - Leafs are on TV (free) :D I'd see a lot more of him if he was on the big team.

Hehe. I can't afford either after paying for my IceDogs seasons, so it makes not difference to me what the Leaf teams charge :D
But Luca's abilities won't keep him on the Marlies for long. It's just a matter of time before he gets a call up.

You think Brian Burke and/or Ron Wilson don't like Luca? I've never heard anything to that. I think they just want him to show his stuff in the 'A a bit more before they completely commit to him. I don't think they traded Ponikarovsky for someone they're planning on keeping in the 'A.

If the Leafs fail to make the playoffs both Wilson and Burke may be out of a job too
Luca has a shot at being called up at least, I feel bad for Swift, he is stuck with Lou, who right now dressed 9 forwards because he didn't have the cap room to call anyone up from the AHL to play. If I'm a player wanting to make the NHL on that team, I might be upset knowing I won't get called up becauase there is no cap room for an AHL player to play.

yes good point..... I just think they have hard on's for American 22 year old NCAA players who only play 34 games a year... because like them they played in the NCAA. Alot of NHL GM's think Burke is dumb for signing so many NCAA players....
