Well, if he was counting empty seats, I can see why he thought only 1600 at the game instead of 2200, because he was counting empty seats from a "full 2600" but the arena holds 3100. Although I do agree that without a specific/central/main parking lot, out-of-towners are going to be hesitant to come when they read stuff like that. Heck I'll put up with the rink for another 5 yrs, maybe even 10, just gimme some free parking! :D

that is why the icedogs have posted the parking map on their website...
thanks for the article.

Wow...criticism. Didn't see that coming.

There's a real nice, big red sign posted at the intersection next to the rink that points to FREE IceDogs Parking. Out-of-towners coming off the 406 would have to be blind not to see it.

Sigh.

Where's the free parking? I come from the north end on Geneva and haven't seen any signs. But I could REALLY use some free parking and save myself 10 bucks a week (that's 40 bucks a month which is a phone bill being tacked on to my already too-much-bills listed)

The sign is right at the intersection of Geneva and the off ramp from the 406. It does in fact state free parking and has an arrow pointing to the lower lot.

The arrow actually points to 3 free lots. When you turn down the street, there is a lot immediately to your right, then another one to your left and then the lower level (big) lot further down.
I have always managed to get a spot in either of the first 2 lots and I usually show up about 45 min. before game time.

At the home opener when we had a full house, I parked in the lower level lot. Even with the sell out, that lot was not filled up.

If your not afraid of a little (5 min.) walk then there's no reason to be paying money to park your car.

AAAahhh. I thought someone before said they were charging for the lower lot and asked if that was even allowed because it was a city lot. Ok, so the lower lot is still free. Good, I'll go there from now on.

There are plenty of areas to park, what does this yahoo from Guelph know... PFFT! He shouldn't be coming to conclusions about our situation if he can't even take the time to look on the website to see if we have a parking map. That and the fact he thinks our arena only holds 2,600!

Lower lot is free.

If you get there early enough, you will be able to park in the race street parking lot (which is the small lot on the way down to the lower level lot).

Like I had said before...I come about 45 min. before game time and I get a spot in either the Race St. lot or the Head St. lot. They are right across the street from each other.

I can't tell whether you are writing a sports column or a commentary on the HUGE loss your team suffered at the paws of the icedogs. Oh wait, you must have gone to the Larry Storch school of journalism, those skills show man, those skills show. What exactly can't you not love about the classic feeling of a great canadian hockey arena? Do you prefer your plush corporate seating with some red wine and sushi? Get off your high horse and give Niagara some credit. Mr. Burke has poured his heart and wallet out to accomplish this amazing feat only to get reviews like this from pompous jerks like you? Next time your team comes down for a good ole game of hockey, I suggest you take the day off and let an intern do a better 'review'. Don't quit your day job...Oh wait.
Guelph just made my list of cities to speed through on my way to bigger and better things, thanks idiot.

The person writing to the editor only made himself look bad. Name calling never works, only makes the person doing it look like an "idiot". It would have been better if we had someone with some maturity sticking up for us (and someone with some better grammar). Oh well, at least someone wrote in.
