General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the Niagara IceDogs have acquired forward Aaron Snow from the Windsor Spitfires. In return, the IceDogs send a 4th round pick in 2009 and 3rd round pick in 2010 back to Windsor. Snow was a 2nd round pick (23rd overall) of the Brampton Battalion and spent two years in Brampton before being dealt to Belleville part way through last season and subsequently to Windsor during the off season. The 6’1”, 204lb left winger was also chosen by the Dallas Stars in the 3rd round (90th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

“Aaron is a big, strong kid who has shown that he can be a consistent scorer in this league” said Dave Brown. “With our current group of forwards, he will only help to provide more depth on our front end and boost our offensive attack. In being able to add a player of this caliber without taking away from our current roster, we believe that our team will not only be tougher to play against this season but will also remain strong for the next couple years to come.”

Aaron will be making his IceDogs debut Sunday afternoon at home versus the Barrie Colts.

I think with the pieces we already have in place he will be a welcome fit to a rather small forward bunch.

Hopefully our coaching staff can get his head back in the game!
