NHL Centre Ice is a HUGE load of CRAP!!
I subscribed to the Super Sports Pack and NHL Centre Ice on my Cogeco Digital cable box last month (September) and I was really excited to get it because that meant I was able to follow the Niagara IceDogs away games on the OHL Action Pak and I was able to follow the Columbus Blue Jackets on NHL Centre Ice.
WELL....
It has been about a month now and every time that Columbus is playing I tune into NHL Centre Ice to wactch the Blue Jackets, but tonite was a different story, I rushed home from work to watch the game and guess what??...the Blue Jackets game is NOT being shown on Centre Ice so I got a little disgruntled and called Cogeco and asked why I wasn't getting the game and she (cogeco rep) said that "Some games are blackedout on Centre Ice"
and I said "well NHL centre ice advertises that the ONLY games that are supposed to be blacked out are the games that are shown on our local channels" which is all leaf games cause of the market we are in and whatever games are shown on TSN/Sportsnet/CBC.
And she told me that "it's not Cogeco that blocking the games, its the places that Cogeco recieves the signal from", and "she doesn't understand why they are blackedout either", she said that "she has been bombed with calls all night about people not recieveing games out of their market."
So needless to say I cancelled my entire super sports pack subscription tonite because what is the sense of having the NHL Centre Ice to follow out of market games when NHL Centre Ice blackouts the out of market games!!
Screw You NHL Centre Ice!!!
I would like to say that the Cogeco rep was very polite and totally understanding.
Signed: Pissed Off!!

Remember, not all hockey markets are huge like the LEafs - not all of them broadcast every game on TV.

You *DO* realize you're going to get charged for 6 MONTHS anyway right? I didn't double check this year but every other year there's a 6 month minimum subscription to the SuperSports Package.
Screw You NHL Centre Ice!!!
Before you used to be able to purchase each package individually so you could get JUST the OHL Action Pak if you wanted. NOt anymore - they make you buy all the sports that you coudln't care less about.

You got one that speaks English?!? You definitely have luck on your side. I usually get someone who speaks broken English with such a heavy non-English accent that my cat would have better luck understanding them. Although I WILL say that lately whenever I've talked, I've had an English-speaking person WITH an understandable accent. So maybe they've started hiring more understandable people.
But Cogeco just piggybacks the SuperSports package from Rogers - the Super Sports Package is a Rogers product. Any beefs with it, you should call Rogers because Cogeco has no say in it.

I was not aware of that, mind you I think that NHL Centre Ice should advertise that then.

I just called Cocego back and asked them about that and she said
"Nope, The super sports package has been removed from your billing cycle and you will not see anymore charges for the Super Sports Package" then she said "If anyone thinks that they are getting billed for not recieving the service then they should call us themselfs and get the package removed from their billing"

Yeah that's a bummer cause I would have kept the OHL Action Pak :(

I am not blaming Cogeco, they can only get what they recieve from the teleivsed markets.

Wow, maybe it's finally changed then. Although the hockey season lasts 8 months so i didn't care about the 6 month minimum. But they shouldn't put ANY minimum in, on anything. Whenever you're dont' want a service anymore you shouldn't be forced to continue to pay for it.
I'm just really pissed I have to buy the entire Sports Package just to see a bunch of IceDogs away games. And the OHL's online video service is even more of a ripoff at $7 a game.
So I'm going to pay probably over $200 just to WATCH the IceDogs away games with the way Cogeco/Rogers price gouging currently is.

when i called and asked about the SSP they also told me that there is a min. of 6 month subscription... the lady told me that the reps cannot control the billings and it is auto set for a min of 6 months and then it unlocks it self.... just info that i got...not saying that you were misinformed or anything... keep a close eye on your bill... I had a HUGE issue with cogeco...for billing issues made by computer errors.. had a bill of $457 a month for several months and no one could figure it... there is no such package for cogeco that costs $457 a month....LOL... finally go it worked out.

Thanks GoDogsGo & AlphaDog,
I definately will be keeping an eye on my billing, cause if they are going to charge me fo rthe full term than I might as well just keep the package.
