The IceDogs continue their downward slide and start week five in 6th place with 9 points and a 0.500 win record. Niagara’s scoring is courtesy of Tomasino (7-11), Sopa (7-7) and Thomas (1-9) while Tynan is statistically still the team’s best goalie (3.25GAA, 0.929%). |

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. Playoff Eligibility / Fantilli Standings <> 28 Weeks: 4 weeks played - 24 to go. 08 Niagara - 9 pts (H-Erie; @Mississauga; H-Guelph) ------------------------------------------------------ 09 North Bay - 6 pts (@Saginaw; @Flint; @SSM) 10 Kingston - 5 pts (H-Hamilton; @London; @Sarnia) As fugly as that game was (worst I have seen), a lot of teams much better than IceDogs have been blown out this year. It’s only a problem, if turns into a pattern – overall their play this year has been respectable (.500). What their response is to Saturday’s game becomes important this week. Three respectable OHL lines: LW Castleman - Thomas - RW Lodnia LW Doherty - Tomasino - RW Sopa LW Bruder (Inj) - Uberti - RW DeSimone …and once Bruder is healthy, just leave these lines alone for more than one game! *** |
Castleman plays better with Sopa and Tomasino. No chemistry with Thomas.

Being that last week's thread is closed, my thoughts would still be inline for this week. Last week, during interviews prior to the two games, Super coach B. stated that with the extra days off, the team focused on defensive play. Watching both games last week, I was thinking about what the hell they had worked on. They looked better the previous week.
Now, is this what we have to look forward to this week during our 3 in 3 days. The improved defensive play? Hmm..... |
