Winning teams such as Hamilton do not have 11 rookies in a game. These players will do through the learning process every game and learn by their mistakes. It has been said in the past that our boys will have to learn how to play and survive in this league. To add to that, not being too negative, are the returning players as good as we think or hope they are? Hm....
I guess the frustrating part is this is year 3 of the rebuild, and we are still very much in rebuild mode. In the past, year 3 was when we peaked. Part of that may be due to the pandemic but after our last run, the team was so gutted of young players and picks that everyone knew this was likely going to be a very long rebuild.

As for our returning players, I really don’t expect too much. None of them are NHL drafted and few were picked in the top 3 rounds coming into the OHL.
