Normally I would agree with you but this season OHL attendance is down across the board. Tonight’s game in Windsor only drew 4979 in the 6500 seat WFCU.

Even more strange, in the first round game 7 in London, the attendance was only 5908 in the 9100 seat Budweiser Garden. Normally they average 9000 for the regular season.

In game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against Flint, the attendance in Windsor was 6335, about 150 short of a sellout. However, Windsor donated 1000 tickets to charity for that game and even with that, they still couldn’t sell out. When was the last time a team needed to donate 1000 tickets to pack the arena for a Conference final game 7 game. Here is the article about the donated tickets. People just don’t have the disposable income to go to OHL hockey like they used to.
