Agree, but if you you re-watch his games after returning from his injury, Roberts has improved each and every game. This is his first year getting top minutes - and with his skating and skill set, Roberts will continue to get better every game!

Not to start bashing the kid here, hopefully, he will stop turning the puck over and over as he does way too many times each game. And he might just take a hit to set up a play on the power play instead of turning the puck over.

Just my two cents here.
I hope that you are right and that I am wrong before my heart gives way.

Personally, I love and admire what the Icedogs organization has done so far.
Since there inception in 2007-08, the Dogs have made the playoffs every year.
Every 4 years, 2012, 2016, they have been the Eastern champions.
In is so damn hard to win an OHL championship, so I would take this track record any day.
That being said, I would rather take the Dogs accomplishments, over winning an OHL championship and being totally futile over 10 years.
Dont get me wrong, I would be the happiest guy in the world if the Dogs would win a OHL championship, but not if that means futility year after year.
Being competitive year in and year out, and highly competitive every 4 years is amazing.
The Dogs have done that and it means very entertaining hockey every year and put seats in the house also.

Just my two cents.

The following is a snapshot of OHL teams’ draft cupboards (Rd #2 and #3) between the years 2018-2022, which has the greatest variance in picks. After those years, most teams have their own picks.

In order to rank them, I used a numerical system to quantify the draft cupboards (2 pts for a 2nd and 1 pt for a 3rd).
* conditional pick
RED - EAST
BLUE - WEST

Using this scoring system, the Ice Dogs would be ranked 3rd (EAST) and 6th (OHL).

Post will be updated after the trade deadline.

1 Saginaw
<> 10 - 2nd and 9 – 3rd = 29 points

2 Ottawa
<> 10 - 2nd and 8 – 3rd = 28 points

Niagara only has 5 second round picks over that time frame. Not 6.

Petes 2nd in 2018
Stings 2nd in 2019
No 2nd round pick 2020 (London has it)
Generals and Petes in 2021
Their own in 2022

The trade deadline will be very interesting.

• Since the teams in the top third (except for London) are not likely buyers, that leaves some of the teams in the bottom two-thirds to make game-changing trades.

• Barrie has the most assets of the teams in the bottom two-thirds. They'll likely be losing Lipanov and Svechnikov next year. Maybe they’ll be buyers?

• As you move down the list SSM, Kitchener and Hamilton are in the best position to make trades.

• As you move to the bottom third - there are four more teams expected to “go for it” or maybe not. For those 4 teams it might be a case of “trying to get blood from a stone”.

• The two teams at the bottom of the ranking have some big names to trade - and are desperate for some picks.
<> Windsor (97 Luchuk, 98 Brown, 98 Day, 99 DiPietro).
<> Erie (98 Raddysh, 98 Sambrook and 98 Maksimovich).
