That would be a good recipe in a perfect world. But I think investing some extra $ in a better looking rink on the insides, can make up for those years we have a less-than-par team on the ice. You ever get a poor team on the ice and a drab looking building on the inside, and you'll have a hard time putting people in the seats.

I'm a firm believer that the inside atmosphere is THE most overlooked criteria when building a new rink. The recent theme has been big and spacious and plain and cheap. Then they wonder why people don't want to fill the place.

NOOO NOOO! Those low ceilings with the structure beams running all across them make it look like your in a factory! I'm just waiting for an overhead gantry crane to go by in those setups. I like the big domed roofs with wood interior. (like ours)

Aaaah. Well as long as it's domed I'm happy. Those flat ceilings with all the stuctural I-beams across them just look factory'ish. Yah, I like ours

howser24 is on a distinguished road
Default New Barn

I have looked online thoroughly for something that will take "the jack" and while seating what we need, keep in mind the atmosphere....northeastern university seems to be interesting and could be perfect with some small modifications...maybe some boxes up top, a nicer clock, and some sro on the ends...as far as "on top of the ice" its pretty close to what most of us are looking for...
