Yep, my feelings too. Decent trade.

Regular playing time, on a rebuilding team, could be exactly what Jackson Doherty needs – and if he has a decent year, the Ice Dogs can trade him for a 4th next year or keep Doherty as an OA. The Ice Dogs will have very few 2000 next year.

I doubt any of the Owen Sounds fans even seen or noticed Matt Phillip – any more then IceDogs fans noticed Jackson Doherty, in the few games they played each other.

Personally, I’m eagerly awaiting for NiceDawg to comment on the Matthew Phillip trade?
Wait no longer, although I liked him as an individual, he was a B- or C+ as a player, despite a great first year. In reality this was a good trade for Niagara getting a player and picks for an OA that likely would have been released as a free agent due to the number of potential OAs this upcoming season. You can't be sentimental and a good GM at the same time.

I would say this was a decent trade for Niagara as well. A sixth is pretty decent even if it’s two years out. We get a veteran back with O experience. I certainly don’t have any scouting knowledge on him ... I would think the adobe have done their homework.

At least they are adding a draft pick and not trading one away lol

No negativity from me on this one for now ... that may change when training camp arrives lol

With the early impressive play of Sbaraglia and Tynan, this IceDogs’ rebuild is starting from the net out…

Ed Burkholder discussing the terrific trio: Cato, Chanton and Enright.

Rookie goalie shines early
By Bill Potrecz - September 24, 2019

https://www.bpsportsniagara.com/rook...-shines-early/

Burke said Tynan’s demeanour is perfect for a goaltender. “He’s calm and he looks big and confident and the guys really feed off it,” he said. “He’s extremely athletic. He has very fast legs and very good rebound control. He really does check all the boxes.

“Even though Tucker is only 17, he plays older than that. He carries himself well and spends a ton of time in the gym. He’s very focused. He wants to be in the NHL and he wants to work as hard as he can to make that a reality.”

I think he will be very good but in my opinion he was letting some pretty juicy rebounds out last game.

I agree with 100% on Tynan being good now and in the future and I agree with you about concerns on his big and juicy rebounds that he creates. Contrary to what the head coach stated.
Oh no, did I just take a shot at the head coach ??!!
