I can see the OHL starting up way before the AHL do. Some US States are just starting to realize they need to roll things back. Sad to watch. And suggest December 4th here if we do what we still need to do.

December, exactly what I was saying for months. Although, I bet it turns into late December.

Not to get too political, but this pandemic has shown to the world the flaws in American society. From a lack of Universal Healthcare to the belief that they are "Exceptional" at everything and "rugged individualism" is the key to their success. That stuff is drilled into them as children. Tragic.

DE 104, I couldn’t agree with you more. Flawed, incompetent leadership from the beginning. Make no mistake with this, COVID will be thriving in the States for YEARS. It’s one of t hose things where I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’m going to be. Fairly or unfairly, this pandemic will go down( in my opinion) as Trump’s failure, and his alone.
But to turn this to OHL hockey, I wonder what the, what, 10 US-based CHL teams are going to do? How are the Erie’s and Flints and Tri-Cities and Everett, WAs going to do if they can’t travel across the border? And I don’t know about all of you, but I think it’s going to take a frickin’ DECADE for the border to open again. I guess it just depends on how much bleach Americans drink. |

The Ontario Hockey Federation has a "Back to hockey" plan that I tried to add to the post above, but it did not come out the way I expected to, so, I deleted it.
Does the OHL fall under this umbrella of Hockey Ontario? Thoughts please |

The information below comes from the return to hockey and I am not sure if the CHL or OHL fall under this format.
From July 28 to August 31, the OHF will be in Stage 3A. In Stage 3A Member approved programming is based on Stage 1 and 2 requirements for participants who were registered with the association for 2019-2020 in geographic areas that the Ontario Government has deemed to be in Stage 3 of Ontario’s Reopening Plan. Individual and group training allows for a maximum of 25 participants on the ice, including instructors, or a lower number if determined by Ontario Government, local PHU, the facility or Member. Physical distancing is required for the purpose of individual and group training and if a facility has further restrictions all programming must comply. Associations may begin to gather fees for programming offered in accordance with the OHF Return to Hockey Framework Stage 3A. The collection of fees must only be done for the purpose of Stage 3 programming. Beginning September 1, the OHF will move to Stage 3B. Following a two-week development phase for any new programs, Stage 3 Modified Programming will begin. Essential to the safety of participants, modified programming is Member Sanctioned hockey programs in compliance with the requirements of Stage 3 operated within the Minor Hockey Associations or the Member including game play, scrimmage in practice and team practice drills. After a break from physical sport, modified programming encourages players to focus on developing hockey skills while being able to physically distance on the ice. |
