Clearly the elderly, first responders, healthcare professionals, people with compromised immune systems will be first in line for a vaccine.

More information on "Return to Hockey" from the Peterborough Examiner (Friday July 31st) article.
Stage three has five phases with phase A in effect until Aug. 31 focused solely on skill development using 2019-20 rosters. Phase B begins Sept. 1 bringing together players of similar skill level who reside within the same public health unit jurisdiction. Phase B and C move into some non-contact three-on-three and four-on-four hockey with physically distancing on the bench and in dressing rooms. Local leagues of up to 50 players, 10 per team, can be formed with location associations allocating players into tiered groups. Phases D and E move into five-on-five play but won’t occur before November, McKee said. |

How many people do you think the Ontario government are going to allow inside the Meridian Centre at once? Like most aspects congregating groups have been getting larger in phases. Currently, we are at 50 indoors with 6' of physical distancing. Start thinking about seating at the Meridian Centre and imagine your seat. Now think of how many people are within 6' of your seat, and you soon see that most seats are adjacent to 4-6 other seats. Yes, you and your spouse/family can sit together (all the same bubble) but then think of how many seats are near 2 seats. I am betting only 1000-2000 people could be accommodated that way, assuming Ontario allowed that many people inside. It has been mentioned before that the break-even point for an OHL team was around 3000, and Niagara has a fairly big facility. For smaller facilities the total capacity will be smaller. Who gets a seat? Who will sit out for health reasons? Which teams will stay financially solvent?

Read a tweet an hour or so ago on Twitter from OHL insiders stating the the OHL will have a major announcement tomorrow on the starting of the 2020/2021 season. Apparently the OHL is very tight liped on this info.
I should have copied and pasted the post as it no longer appears to be on Twitter. We shall see if we hear something tomorrow. |

@ben_leeson · 2h Expecting the #OHL to make an announcement tomorrow regarding its start date for the 2020-21 regular season, after a meeting of the board of governors last week. Few details have emerged from those discussions, but I expect we'll see a delayed start, possibly without fans. |

How about no fans till December? We are only allowed gatherings of 50 indoors at this time. Maybe 500 to a 1000 by December, as long as everyone does what they are supposed to do in public. Unlike what we see going on in Niagara Falls.

Maybe but I doubt it (I think teams would still lose too much money to play without fans until December) I think we don’t see a season start until December 1 or maybe January 1

That is along the lines that I am thinking. For some strange reason, December 4th has always sounded like the number to me. January now, that sounds more like my wife's thinking. Thanks
