If it a choice to trade Hunter or Roberts I will trade Roberts I think Hunter is a bit better overall player.

Why do you think that. Every time the OA topic has come up in the newspaper or radio interview, the Icedogs always respond that they want to keep 2 OA’s Defencemen and 1 forward if everything works out as planned.

Here is a quote from the latest article on BPSports

“Roberts, Jacob Paquette and Drew Hunter are all over-age defenders and the IceDogs plan to keep two. The other OA spot will be a battle between forwards Bradey Johnson and Oliver Castleman”

AJ Cook (used as needed, either forward or D)

This allows Hunter to be moved (as I believe he is marginally more marketable than Roberts, however, I also expect Paquette to be moved at the Trade Deadline). I would also expect Castleman to be moved as well, same reasons as above, also, in a pinch Johnson can be counted on to play a 'passable' role on 'D' in case of injuries / slumps / misc 'issues'. I would expect in the 2nd half of the season for Roberts to be 'The Veteran Influence' on D with Howard giving support.

I think Agostinelli plays in Fort Erie for the majority of the season, unless he is tearing up the league (doubtful), in which case maybe bring him in to get some experience for next season. Same with Rosenzweig. I see him playing for someone else this year, maybe a bit closer to home, as G tend to develop a bit more slowly. Though through injury, or other issues, he could see a couple of games this year.

Thomas, and maybe Tomasino (again, doubtful on Tomasino, but always a possibility for the right deal) get moved at the deadline for a boatload of plunder...

Looking ahead, I could see this team being a bit of a surprise, there is a fair bit of speed and elusiveness. If the coaches are able to get the best (not holding my breath) out of this rag tag collection of misfits, I could honestly see a 6th - 8th place finish.

On the other hand... If they Burke it up, it could be a REALLY long year for the ID Faithful (or... The Unleashed... If you will...) But at least we won't have to worry about dealing with Merkley coming in and being a locker room cancer...

Or maybe they feel sorry for Peterborough and Merkley and take him in ( hate to see it tho ) and give them back everything that they received for Paquette.....Now back to sleep to continue dreaming.

That's exactly the kind of bone-headed manouvre we have to worry about.

Not suggesting the IceDogs should or will, but rather if they keep 4 OAs into December. Rotating Paquette, Hunter, Roberts and Castleman - each would play 24 of the 32 games. Then after the Paquette trade, the IceDogs would still have Hunter and Roberts on D to go along with Castleman.

Paquette is currently in Traverse City Michigan rookie camp with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Is there any chance that a team there (8 teams including the Leafs) sign him to an AHL contract?
That would really mess up my deadline plans....
