Is It Time For An Updated Logo?

With an impending ownership change, is it also a good opportunity to update the IceDogs team logo? I'm sure no one would be surprised by what I would suggest, but what about you? What would you design, or would you keep things as is? Or would you rename the team and start fresh?

I think it might be a good time for a refresh. If they don't do I am fine with that as well.

I'm on the fence with is one. I can't stand the cartoon character. If it was a hockey team of 5 year olds it'd be fine.

At the same time, I don't like teams constantly changing their logos. You build tradition over time. Bruins, Blackhawks, Habs, etc. The logo becomes iconic.

Having said that, if you're going to do it. Now is the perfect time.

I am perfectly fine with keeping the logo we have. It serves the region well and why should all the fans have to upgrade their shirts, hats, tee shirts etc. when there is no need.

I do not think fans will instantly stop wearing the old logo and have to update to the new logo

People will wear both

I agree with ff in that I would not change things drastically

I would like to keep the same team colors

I really think it's well passed time for a logo update... Would also like to see an end to a cartoon dog... And new unis would be nice. Stick with the Carolina base jersey (black in black) for home, and expand that to the Carolina (Reds) for away for 1st half of season. Then swap.

The current stuff feels old and dated to me... Would love to see a "refreshed look" for the new season, with new ownership, new GM, a new coaching and scouting staff... Just redo the majority of the Hockey Ops side...

Another thought. Does a new GM incoming mean the rebuild timeline gets any more screwed up?
