Oh boy

That was a helluva game by Roobroeck tonight.

He played great.

Do not look now (again) but he has 2g 4a in 4gp

Lol

He quite possibly has more points than anyone on our team currently

The bag of pucks and Timmys gift cards we got for him I am sure have been very useful

The fans drift away because they feel they are being exploited with a poor quality on-ice product.

Owner sells/moves the team blaming the fans for not supporting the team. New owner has little in terms of players and picks in order to bring the team around anytime soon or new venue is so starved for the game that they tolerate the poor quality of the team.

In time, I would like to be proven wrong. But, this looks a lot like what has happened in the past (on multiple occasions) in this area.
I give you the Hamilton Bulldogs as an example. Team has new owners/location & in 5 years won 2 cups. Contrast that with new owners in Mississauga & Niagara. Scouting, knowlegable GM, competant coaching will get you a successful franchise. Look acrosss the League. Small market franchises can build a successful team. Erie, Owen Sound, Flint, Saginaw, North Bay don't have the many attributes we have in Niagara & they are doing fine. Lets hope BB has the will to build here or we will be doing this again in a few years. It is a 'pipe dream' to imagine Niagara hosing the Memorial Cup in 2 years; maybe 6 years or more likely 10 years as we have some bleak years ahead.

I know some people don't and won't agree, but it certainly helps if you have played the game. ie in Hamilton with two ex Niagara Falls Thunder players in Jay McKee and Steve Staios. Staois was just hired by the Edmonton Oilers, but still.

It will be interesting to see if Dadobbler would ever fire Fitzgerald. How many years have they worked together? And with no success in Brantford.

I think having played at the highest level certainly is an advantage to being a GM Or coach at this level. They have been there and know what it takes. That being said some who have not made the NHL have had success at this level but that is infrequent IMO

Apparently Staios just got a promotion and is now with the Oilers. it certainly helps when the owner owns and does nothing else too!

Two former Thunder d-men from back in the day !

Former/traded Ice Dog goalie Joey Costanzo (2005 DOB, 2nd rd Ohl pick) got his first win as a Spitfire tonight stopping 35/37 in an 3-2 overtime win earning him 3rd star of the game. .....he was a 16 yr old rookie last year and DeDob trades him for peanuts before the season even begins and replaces him with an older more expensive mediocre goalie? .... Did Costanzo want out or was this DD's plan to build a contender ..terrible trades

At some point we need to recognize this is really REALLY bad for the franchise.

He just turned a 3rd and a 4th into a 5th......

DD is just way out of his league. Period. Full stop.
