Game 1 of 68, we lost because we came up against a hot goalie, hardly a game we had to win. Go Dogs

Geez game #1 is a game we have to win? Tough crowd! I think we open with seven on the road in a row. That's tough. If we end up 4-3 after 7 I'll be happy

I watched the game on the web. BAD video quality - I won't be ordering that again. The Dogs outshot Sudbury -badly-. At one point it was 28-10.

Here's the recap from Dogs' office:
Quote:
The Niagara IceDogs lost 3-1 to the Sudbury Wolves to open their OHL season Friday night in Sudbury.

Graham Knott opened the scoring in the game, and the season, as he converted a nice pass from McCool by beating Troy Timpano on the backhand. It would be the only goal of the period, despite the IceDogs throwing 17 pucks Timpano’s way.

The Wolves would tie it up in the second when Michael Pezzetta beat Brent Moran for his first OHL goal. They could have had a couple more but Moran made some great saves to keep the score tied late in the period.

The IceDogs carried the play in the third, much like they did in the first two periods, but they couldn’t find a way to beat Timpano. Brody Silk gave Sudbury the lead midway through the period when he picked the puck up in the neutral zone and broke in alone. Pavel Jenys added an empty net goal
for good measure to hand the IceDogs their first loss of the season.
The IceDogs are back at it Saturday night when they travel to Sault Ste. Marie to battle the Greyhounds.

SCORING SUMMARY

FIRST PERIOD
NIA KNOTT (1) (MCCOOL) 8:57

SECOND PERIOD
SBY PEZZETTA (CLAPHAM, ZEPPIERI) 4:37

THIRD PERIOD
SBY SILK (1) (SCHMALZ, DE HAAN) 7:42
SBY JENYS (1) (UNASSISTED) 19:49 EN

Thanks for the update. What feed was it then Niagara cogeco feed? Too bad the OHL streaming is in the dark ages. My buddy subscribes to hockey streams. I might check that out tonight to see what quality is like. I'm guessing will b similar tho

Agreed, It is only game one so let's not go overboard... at the same time consensus is Sudbury is projected to finish dead last in the league this year. Tonight the Dogs get a depleted Soo team that might be the best team in the league.

Northern trip is always hard, especially to start the season... hope they get the split.

It was the OHL live stream. Single camera, no zoom, no replay, but at least it was commentated ok. Poor video quality on a big screen though.
