We are in the second year of our rebuild and ahead of where I thought we would be!
Let's also not forget, this is Hamiltons year for their run or why would they bid for the Memorial Cup?

It must have been really painful to watch a rookie go pointless in the playoffs for ya but 137 pts in 139 regular season games and 5 points in 12 playoff games( 0 points in 7 games with london and 5 pts in 5 games with flint). Sounds like horrendous numbers to me .. how do you survive watching the icedogs than

In the end, the month of November was a success for the rebuilding Ice Dogs. I’m not talking about the recent wins - referring more so to the maturation, growth and development evident in many of the players.

Along with those players who were expected to take that step forward (Thomas, Jones, Dhillon and Maksimov), it has been the play of some of the others that should give Ice Dog fans reason to be hopeful for a promising future - and the development of a strong core of players for next year. Players like MacPherson, Ham, Roberts and more recently Johnson have significantly elevated their game. Phillips and Castleman are now trending in the right direction again. And the early growth and potential evident in Tomasino, Constantinou and Martin has made going to the Meridian Centre regardless whether they win or lose – a lot fun!

Over the course of an OHL season, there will be many ups and downs for a young team like the Ice Dogs, so realistically, they are probably a .500 team (approx. 68-72 point) – that will finish 5th or 6th in the EAST.

However, Billy Burke set the bar high for year 2 (80 points or .588). To date, the Ice Dogs have collected 29 of the possible 50 points which is a .580 winning percentage. If we're lucky, he'll be right and we'll be wrong!

Regardless, of how many points or where they finish in the standing, the success of the season will be measured by the development of the players and team as a whole. Hopefully, that continues to be the case – and some big, bold moves are made next year!

Go Dogs!

Not to be a stick in the mud, but, Roberts makes my heart miss a beat every time he touches the puck.
