Default Flint Firebirds @ Niagara IceDogs - Thursday, 2018.03.08 - 7pm

Where in the world is Adrian Carbonara?

I’ve seen more of his ugly Christmas sweater jersey lately in the stands than him on the ice ...

I had never seen the Flint Firebirds in person before. Niagara basically gifted them the two short handed goals. Flint really did not look like they knew what they were doing. 8-2 easily could have been 10-2, 10-0.. almost like the pre-McDavid Erie Otters. It was during the first period, Dogs score and go up 4-0. The shots at that point were something like 20-8, and it’s like OK.. this Flint squad is just not at the same level. It was as if Flint just turned off the switch, and I wondered if this game was going to get ugly, and violent.
And it just sorta.. didn’t.
Some really nice work done in this game, some guys got to bury the biscuit that don’t usually. A real nice confidence booster before taking on powerful Hamilton.. good win, boys

Nice to see the gas pedal firmly matted on that old Firebird. The IceDogs let up by choice when Burke rolled line three and four heavy in the last ten minutes of the game. It was a classy move.

Classy move for sure. He gift wrapped that shorty for Flint by putting Tomasino and Constantinou on the point for the PP. Before the puck was dropped, I turned to my wife and said that Burkey was handing Flint a SH goal with those 2 on D. And unfortunately I was right. Otherwise that was a good game. Boys played hard and kept up the intensity for darn near 60 minutes. Nice to see some secondary scoring tonight also. Hope this will instill some confidence in the boys. Go Dogs Go.

Some of the billet families in 117 were talking it's an ice time dispute.

I actually felt the officiating was pretty good compared to normal ... easy to say when you win 8-2.

In the first period there were quite a few chinchy calls they could have made but they let them play.

Most of the blatant calls were made other than Lochead getting high sticked on the PK.

I think in the third they were making more calls simply to keep the game from being a blowout .

Anyhow, thought the boys in stripes did a good job tonight ... would like to see those orange arm banded zebras more often ...
