Default CKOC.. TSN 1150!

I was wondering who would get the Bulldogs gig.. Who doesn't remember the old tagline/ident jingle 'CKOC.. 1150!' That was the first radio station I ever listened to. I remember the Great Migration when CKOC, along with all AM Top 40, changed to all-talk, to all-news, now to this. Aside from being the OHL Bulldogs' broadcaster, CKOC will go the way of the FAN. A third all-sports station. Fourth if you count CBS Sports Radio out of Buffalo.
Does the Toronto/Niagara/Buffalo area need another sports station?

Aside from the odd OHL and CHL football game it'll likely have the same content as1050. Too bad because aside from the McCowan show on 590 and Leafs Lunch on 1050 most of the content on the 2 Toronto stations is tough to listen to. Mawhood's show on 610 was far superior to most of it especially when he was on solo.

Truth to tell, the market has FIVE sports talk stations right now....TSN 1050 and Sportsnet 590 in Toronto, plus WGR/550, ESPN 1520(WWKB) and 1270 The Fan(WHLD) in Buffalo. So with the advent of TSN 1150 in Hamilton, it'll give us SIX stations, not five.

I have to think this Hamilton Sports station will have a good chunk of Bulldogs/OHL coverage. That will be a nice change from the zero OHL content discussed on Fan 590. Don't get me wrong, I've been a FAN listener since Day 1 on 1430. But there's nothing but Raps/Leafs in Winter, Blue Jays from March-October.

True, but consider that sports leagues that aren't the Big 4....NLL, MLS, CFL(though it's VERY popular in Canada), the AHL...are lucky to even get SOME airtime.
