I thought it turned in to a no hitting league a few years ago.

If anyone sees how typical under 21 year olds are acting during the pandemic, I'd be surprised it took so long or involved so few players in the league.

And now, there is another team. Found this on Twitter a few minutes ago.

The QMJHL confirms there are now eight (8) positive cases of Covid-19 among the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

The Phoenix played the Armada - a team with 18 cases - twice last weekend. Players and staff are now quarantined for 14 days.

Competitive hockey during a global pandemic and not putting all the players and staff in lockdown, just doesn't work. Its a public health danger.

Good luck trying to lock down a group of 16-20 year old boys!

What if the OHL season is cancelled?

Beyond the obvious adverse effects of a year lost in player development, across the entire OHL, what is the fallout for each team in terms of: championship opportunity lost; elite players lost; draft picks traded away; unable to trade assets into draft picks. For any combination of these reasons, the teamís most adversely affect would be Oshawa, Mississauga, Peterborough, Ottawa, Hamilton, and Sudbury.

On the flip side, Barrie, Kingston, North Bay and Niagara come out no worse for wear in 21-22. Barrie will be the overwhelming favourites. Kingston, with Shane Wright will be close behind. Niagara returns with a lot drafts picks and the core of their roster intact. North Bay will remain on track to be one of the teams to beat in a few years.

We have a lot to look forward to in a year. Too early for this ?

I have been singing this song all summer. With Ottawa rolling back to Stage 2 and the US teams unable to cross the border, it is starting to look bleak for anything other than a 4 team, no-hit experience for a few hundred fans.

The Tomasino trade looks more and more like a robbery if the season does not occur.

On the flip side, if the season does get cancelled we may never see Gushchin play a game for the Dogs. Does he go back to Russia and play if there is no season here and does his NHL team put him in the AHL the following year?
