Just got home from the game. There were indeed 2 3-on-5 SHGs.
Outclassed. Everywhere but in net. I'm going to get the exact number wrong, but the Pups were outshot something like 17-3 after the first period. I said to my brother beside me that this is basically what the IceDogs used to do to the Frontenacs, now it's the other way around.
Rookie players, rookie coaches, rookie goaltender.
It's going to be a long year.

I deleted my short handed post, game sheet only indicates 1 SH goal.
Confused, put this to bed. Other dogs in town tomorrow.

Actually, very dissapointed in the banner "dropping" tonight. Isn't it supposed to ba a banner "raising"?
Some guy with a black hoodie in the rafters throws the banner? I mean, come on here. It is just me?
Was at the Bud Friday, and it was kind of a big deal.
Dissapointing, sorry. Thought they deserved more.

Yeah it was a rough game tonight, but we all knew that going in. This is not a team that will win a lot of games. But to be very blunt, to my eyes, it looks like this team hasn't come together. Sloppy play, missed passes....

Wait... It's coming back to me. This team looks a bit like last year's team. Kidding... Seriously though, it looks like time will clear up some of the sloppy play, getting in sync with each other will help, and that only comes from playing games. I mean really, did we expect to win? I hoped, I dreamed, but I never expected...

This is a young team, they will get better... Just, maybe not this year.

After reading my own post a few times, I decided I need to back off from that stance a bit. Maybe give them until Christmas to get their feet wet. Guys like Mantha, Knott and Paquette are going to have to step up, and be the mentors. It's hard to think of Haydon, Jones and Knott and Paquette as the 'veterans', but that's where we're at.

Yes... I positively missed seeing Singer and Machala's speed out on the ice tonight. Also I briefly thought they stopped serving Silversmith Black Lager at the Meridian Centre but then I wandered over to the south-east corner and found it again - so that was positive!

Have to agree I think a banner raising is more what is used to be seen.

I should hope it was a big deal in London . I mean (yawn) they raised an(other) OHL championship banner and a MemCup banner.

Although maybe folks in London get tired of winning almost every year it seems..

Was it not odd that both Singer and Machala weren't actually introduced tonight? Or did I miss that? Were they injured or healthy scratches ?

We don't regularly sell out the home opener. Not surprised by 4700 a lot of actual bums in the seats too.

I was really shocked that probably half of the crowd left with 8 minutes to go in the third. Might want to push that 50-50 draw announcement back a later in the game to keep people in the building this year lol
