Maybe that's why Studnicka cross-checked Lleyton Moore's head for no reason in the full view of the world:
1) Take a stupid penalty 2) Less worK 3) Game ends, series is done sooner 4) Go to AHL 5) Get paid, get glory on a bigger scale

There is a thread on HF Boards that addresses this topic head on - "The Lure of the AHL".
https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threa...e-ahl.2632511/ i have been a believer of this mindset for a long time, but chastised for even thinking it could be so. No OHL level hockey player gives up on his team or his coach, sets his sights elsewhere, of coarse not. They all want to win, all the time 100%. Yea, well, dream on while the reality escapes you. You can't tell me the last two games, especially last night, that Studnicka's game was anything more than mailing it in. Look where he is today, iivin' his dream, the pro life (even the AHL is a pretty big deal for a just turned 20 year old), Robertson not much better, in fact all the rentals seemed to have a care less attitude. When will management learn that you can't buy a winner, look at the Leafs all those Fletcher years trying to build a winner out of trading for veterans. Vast majority of the time it just doesn't work. But to build a homegrown contender from handpicked raw talent and turning it into a cohesive unit, that takes a hockey mind. Buying a team of cherry picked stars takes no talent or genius, but its the easy thing to do. The easy way out, especially for someone who has no qualifications to be in the position they are. |

To me, if you're going to question someone's integrity, you better have damn good proof to do so, not just say "eh, they didn't put up points". We have no idea what injuries anyone is playing with. |

Not sure what games you were watching but all of our NHL drafted players gave it there all. Also, I guess you did not see Jones, Studnicka, Lodnia, and Brassard in tears after the handshake. They were all faking those tears also?? |
