I really can’t see the memorial cup being successful here. It’s just too expensive.

Wow if thats the price count me out

That is lunacy

When Winsor held the Memorial Cup had a bit of a tough time selling tickets. Only the championship game sold out. Anyways I think the new owner should be focusing on running his team better.

Sadly it is the CHL who is gouging the fans

They charge a minimum amount that the franchise must pay for the right to host the tourney. So the CHL is guaranteed $X amount of money

Then the host club tries to make profit above that guaranteed fee paid to the CHL

I do not think it is the cash cow for the hosts like it used to be

I would definitely be buying tickets. Going to the Memorial Cup has always been something I wanted to do.

With a recession on the horizon, interest rate hikes giving people less disposable income to spend on overpriced tickets, bad management, bad product on the ice, no star power.... sounds like a perfect time to bid on the Memorial Cup.

I've been a junior hockey fan since the Niagara Falls Flyers. I've always wanted to see my team in the Memorial Cup. SSM always beat the Thunder like London beats the Dogs preventing me from seeing that. But, I'd prefer they don't host it. Save us the embarrassment of getting blown out on the National stage.

If a new GM was going to happen (which I highly doubt) they’d wait until the off season
