There was an interesting thread on HF boards that breaks down the Icedogs worst trades this season: https://forums.hfboards.com/threads/...897216/page-12
- Acquiring Russian Vsevolod Gaidamak for a 4th round pick who has not yet reported to the IceDogs. - Acquiring Matthew Papais for a 3rd and 4th round pick and then 6 games into the season trading Papais away for a 5th round pick. What a waste of draft picks. - Acquiring goalie Owen Flores for a 2nd and 5th round pick and then trading away goalie Joey Costanzo for a 4th and 12th round pick. Flores has a GAA of 4.79 and a Save % of .871 while Constanzo, who is a year younger than Flores, has a GAA of 2.89 and a save % of .912. No one can figure out this trade. - Trading away left winger Dylan Roobroeck for a 8th round pick, who has 9 points in 12 games with Oshawa, and then acquiring left winger Evan Klein for a 12th round pick, who has 1 assist in 12 games for the IceDogs. I think over the past 15 years we have all witnessed some bad Icedogs trades. But the Icedogs have never had so many bad trades all in one season. I think we are at the beginning of a very bad era for the Icedogs. Last edited by 5 for fighting; 11-01-2022 at 08:30 PM. |

There is not much more to say
Everything has been said in that summation You should?ve mentioned the Leblanc brothers trades too because J especially has looked awful and the jury still out on A but I was not impressed with what I saw from him last week The 2020s are going to be a forgettable decade for the Icedogs. May sound like a bit of a bold statement to make but the draft pick cupboard is bare the team is old and not very good and the GM is essentially clueless It is laughable completely laughable that he has acted this way this year AND THEN puts in a bid for a MemCup next year Should he not have gone bat sh*t crazy NEXT year trying to acquire players for a chance to win the MemCup as host? He clearly cannot assess talent, he clearly does not understand the value of draft picks, he clearly does not understand balancing out the age of your roster, he clearly does not have a plan . It is clear to me he is in over his head as the GM. What he does have is a lot of money apparently and a shiny new toy, which will feature even more empty seats next year IMO Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Was chatting with a neighbors friend the other day who has followed junior hockey since the flyers days and has been a STH since day one
He simply cannot believe the stupidity of the moves made this year either . We drowned our sorrows around the fire with my neighbors beers lol It can only get better though right !? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't even think they have the rights to Gaidamak anymore. When they claimed Hull off waivers they would have had to waive Gaidamak. You can only have two imports unless they meet one of a small handful of criteria which I don't believe he meets.

To make matters worse, underaged Michael Misa who Niagara would have had if the OHL didn't institute the lottery already has 10 goals.
