So tell me, do you think the city of Brantford is going to fix up their arena so an OHL team can come there for 2 seasons. I don’t think so. They are trying to get a permanent OHL team. Some of you have said Brantford doesn’t want an OHL team or that the city isn’t willing to renovate the Civic Centre, but that is untrue. DeDobbelaer tried for years to buy an OHL team for Brantford. Now that he owns the Icedogs, many of you think he no longer has any desire to bring an OHL team to his hometown, where he lives and where he owns two other junior teams. Really? Why do you think Brantford born Wayne Gretzky is part owner of the Icedogs. He appears to have no involvement with the Icedogs at all. But wouldn’t Wayne Gretzky owning a Brantford OHL team make more sense.

To be honest with you

He has made this team the laughingstock of the league in only a free short months under his control

He has taken a young team from last year that probably would have been better than the current years team, made 19 mostly horrible trades, traded a tonne of draft picks which means the worst is yet to come for this team in the future, and turned the team into one of the oldest in the league with a worst record than last years team!

He has clearly shown he has no idea what he is doing.

So if I am being completely honest I would love it if he moved this circus to Brantford. This franchise will never be a contender as long as he is the GM.

Still think he is not leaving as getting out of the lease will be very expensive if even possible.

It might be a year or two without OHL hockey here but I am sure another team not nearly as dysfunctional as this one, would move here.

I have no idea why Wayne is a part owner in this team. Just another senseless move by this clown . If it helps them get the team to Brantford then good. IMO

Former STH I regularly talk to laugh at how awful this team has become. They are a joke

I have spoken to a friend who works for the city and he said the only way the Icedogs can leave St Catharines is if another team comes here to replace the Icedogs. And even with that, the city has to approve it.

But other teams do want to come here, especially if the can take over the current lease between the Icedogs and the city.

I don't see the Icedogs going anyplace. I can't see Brantford spending 50 to 100 million on a new build either. That city is just too small for that.
