It may be a blessing if the Dogs do not win the lottery first pick, thereby avoiding a no show situation of at least 2-3 players. Drafts being unpredictable, the scouts could get lucky and get a player chosen 3 or 4 that has more success than the 1-2 pick. Tomasino had a better career than Bertuzzi, Coe, Porco , all chosen ahead of him that year. Ryan Suzuki was the first overall.

You know your franchise is a mess when some of your fans are hoping that when you have the third worst record in the CHL that you do not win the lottery for fear of having (another) player refuse to report to your team. Current state of franchise lol

In 2022 draft, didnt you pick from rounds 6-8, Boyu Tian, Oscar Wu, Qiushi Han!!
Yikes,, I think they are all out of hockey.
We were told you and Jody Hull were doing the draft.
Why not go with an American flyer like all other elite scouts do??
Its worth the gamble in those later rounds.

There were plenty of rumours on that topic and scouting had NOTHING to do with any of them.
